That was near Nuneaton at Sibson. Stafford is due north of Birmingham about 40 miles further into the ‘Black Country’ 🙁

Stafford is a bit north of the black country. J13 or J14 M6. Just down from Stoke on Trent. Only a short bus ride if anyone who is now without a car wants to attend.

I used to think that guys who were or had been Service Engineers had a good sense of direction but I am beginning to wonder. ❓
Will all the blinkered Southerners South of Luton and East of Swindon, (East of Swindon is so that I do not upset Alex), try to remember that the centre of Great Britain is reasonably close to Rotherham, not Woking or Guildford. Us poor Northeners have become used to using modern technological invetions such as the telephone, television and record players and we are becoming educated since we were taught to read. 😉 Please do not insult us by showing your ignorance about the places we live and love.
Stafford is the County Seat of Staffordshire. Nuneaton is in Warwickshire and The Black Country is West Midlands.
I don’t think anyone from Stafford would like to be considered as coming from The Black Country or Nuneaton. 👿
PTWAPOS or NTBTS. (If you can work out what the abreviations mean please do not send a PM)

“And its only 1 inch on my map north of Birmingham I reckon!” 😉
I agree with the Southerners thing by the way Richard. The fact is I live in the ‘bellybutton’ of Britain, Alex lives by ‘the wedding tackle’ and Dave ‘the smelly feet’. Kevin and yourself closer the ‘the heart’ whilst young Ken lives around ‘the mouth’. Poor old Mark is located at ‘the backside of Britain’. 😉

P.S Figured out the bit about the salt by the way, just working out the last one (NTBTS) 🙄

Stafford? Nuneaton? they are all just stations on the train out of Euston to me! Ask me where Deadhorse, Alaska or some obscure racetrack in The Carolinas are and I will know where the heck we are talking about.
Why is it called the Black country anyhow? Didnt “Pop will eat itself” come from there?Seriously though, can we narrow it down a bit or are we just wandering around this Stafford place all day and night?

I will posting detais on accomodation and meeting venue very shortly.
So dont worry too much about wandering round Stafford, you won’t be disappointed.
Stafford was chosen as it is very U.K. central and has excellent road and rail access.
It is on the main west coast line from London Euston. It is also on the M6 motorway (junction 14) and is just north of the M6 toll road, so those comming from the south wishing to avoid the nightmare that is Birmingham’s spagetti junction, can simply spend £2 and avoid it completely. It also has good east west road connections.
The Hotel I’m trying to arrange is less than 1/2 a mile from junction 14 of the M6 Motorway with an excellent bar/resturant right next door. The important thing for now is that those wishing to attend let us know A.S.A.P. so that we can book the hotel and resturant with firm numbers.
It is a chance to meet your workmates and to meet people in exactley the same boat as yourself, exchange ideas, contacts & experiences.
By the very nature of our trade we are all to often, left to feel isolated. But you will be supprised to learn that there is a wealth of untapped comeradery and support from the people who communicate daily with one another within the UKWHITEGOODS community.Best Regards Del

KeymasterThanks Del it will be a good event event I’m sure and it’s been a great laugh every single time as well as very informative, frank and open.
Well worth popping along I’d say.
