Question 1, it’s already there. You may have to set the option though in the user control panel.

I get email and a pop-up.

I might have accidentally solved the problem while solving Jim’s issue with attachments.

If I’m right, you should now be able to upload an image to the site and a thumbnail should be generated that gives you a full sized popup.

Note to self, must get the missus a new washer. 😆

Just in case anyone wants to know, the upload attachment option is just below the post box.

Click on Browse to open the files on your PC, select the file and click, Add the file.

If it is too big you should get a warning.

A few more tweaks on the site over the weekend. I’m still working on some of it. 😉

Added comments to the news again only a bit better than it was. More to do there but you can now have a rant or whatever if you so wish.

I shied away from allowing comments on the articles.

Engineer search should now be very well linked to. 😉

i am having difficulty using search, if i type in 2 words it ignores one, i have tried putting + in front but no help,
i am probably doing something wrong.

It will ignore words that it deems too common, just like Google et all.

Must admit I am yet to be won over by the new search facility.

If you go to Trade Tech and enter Hoover you get several thousand hits but if you enter Hotpoint you get a message saying ‘Hotpoint’ is to common.

If you enter Hotpoint+motor, or Hotpoint+doorlock or Hotpoint+seal it refuses to search for them. 😥
