Development site now online.

You can login to the forums and use them if you like, permissions should be the same as they are now here. Dual login may not work yet until I prod about later with the bridge.

Can you tell me, here or on the Skunkworks forum, what you can see and access in both the forums and also the main content site.

As you will see, still lots to be done on there and I will need a little help I reckon tidying up. It’s gonna be a bit of pain for a bit as it gets sorted and some stuff WILL be not as it was, broken or just plain non-existant but, it has to be done….

Home page and forum plus the ISE links are fine but I did get logged out a couple of times trying some links.

It looks like an awful lot of work still to do. 🙂

A lot of it is the way it is as I learn the Gantry Framework and a lot more about Joomla, plus a totally new forum.

Yep, several times. If I now go to the home page I am logged in but when I go to the forum and then attempt to post it asks me to log in and gives me the large coloured numbers to enter as well.

Also noticed that one of the John Lewis add banners stays on screen and obliterates the drop down menus.

Ah, that’s the bridge thing I was on about, it’s not fully operational yet. If you tell it to remember you on both… it should…

Tried it several times now, logged in if I click on the home page link above but if I click on the forum link I have to log in again even after ticking ‘remember me’.

Getting lots of 404’s on the links just now as well. going to have a look at it with Google Chrome instead of IE, cannot get my admin login to work on Chrome though. ❓

All the “inline” links will be borked if they link to content on the old site I think.

If it’s link to the new then it’s a concern.

Sudeep has issues with Chrome as well. I find Safari good but I’m an Apple fanboy however, I also use Firefox where I can’t really use Safari and it’s good.

IE is a memory hogging, slow, pile of steaming…

I did have Safari as well but it became corrupted and no amount of fiddling around, reinstalling etc would fix it. 😥

Using Chrome and IE I was getting time outs to several links that I had been able to view 15 to 20 minutes ago.

Me too, time for bed soon. For some reason I am not getting e-mail notifications from here now either. 😕

I have just tried several times to go back to the home page from the forums and it times out every time. 😥

EDIT. Just noticed that the URL that displays in the very bottom of the screen in IE when you hover over the ‘Home’ hyperlink is different to the one in the post above.

Database thing at a guess.

The link that you have pressing “home” from the forum page is to the dev server in the office, which isn’t “online”, that’s why it’s borked.

If you go to the forums then hover over the ‘Home’ button the url is displayed as ukw/developement2/ which is different from the link above.

EDIT. Ah I see, all good fun :rolls:

PS. I do like the auto correct when posting, might be able to understand one or two individuals posts a little better. 😆
