I concur with shaun on this. Samsung Galaxy at Carphone Warehouse haggle price for cash, no contract the swap your sim card over to it. I’ve got a 4 gig card in mine and more pdf file tech manuals within far beyond what I will ever need. I can then search for any make and model and have the info right to hand. If I still haven’t the info on file a quick web surf to log onto manufacturers websites and Bingo..!
Still got an issue with UKW tech search mind you but one day I’ll even get use out of that with my smartphone when I can figure an effective solution.

Just like to add that i got mine from amazon as it was sim free and a good price compared to high street but i would do what Martin says and haggle the price if you go to one of the shops.Mine arrived in no time at all and i took a 3yr guarantee out for £38 in case it got damaged.

p.s just like to add that you can download Kies software from samsung which will update your firmware if you want the latest version..It gives you options to back up your data as well..It is really easy to add tech stuff using kies …Once you plug the phone into the pc it will say found new hardware and will give you option to open the phone using windows ..Double click the icon and you can see all the data on the phone on your pc..You can then add a new folder to the opened window ,name it say tech stuff and then copy any tech stuff you have on the pc to this folder ..Once you remove the usb cable from phone your tech stuff will be on there ..or you can download it a number of ways ,email etc.

i had an iphone 3g worked relatively well my contract was up so i went and compared the samsung galaxy s2 with the iphone4 (ok the iphone 5 when its out would be the right compare but seeing hows it not available as yet) the samsung won hands down, size, speed, cost and what alot of ppl dont know is that samsung make alot of the chips for apple, there is a lawsuit going on atm where apple are suing samsung for using its technology in the galaxy s2. for me the samsung won. After 6 weeks of ownership i can honestly say its brilliant.

apple trying to control to much imo. wouldnt bother me but its an example of how apple really do want to have control of to much. way worse than microsnot imo.

You been to a gig recently?
All I saw the last few times was stewards running about telling plonkers to stop recording and taking photos, even though they won’t exactly work isn’t the point really every one of them says quite clearly that recording and photography isn’t allowed, it’s a breach of copyright. It’s a condition of buying a ticket and part of the contract when you buy one, you cannot legally record it anyway.
So technology finds ways to stop people breaking the law, there’s a shocker.
Suppose we better do something about the speed cameras too, software keys, DRM, CCTV, speed limiters, illegal downloads…. need I go on?
And others are liable to follow suit as well as they do deals with the record label devils to flog music over the net.

as i said ‘wouldnt bother me’ as i dont go to such things. my point is apple do and are trying to be to controlling, yes like plenty of other organisations and governments. like i want to be able to look at all websites of my choice on my smartphone not just those that apple decide upon because they dont like flash lol.
