Continuity to ground means nothing unless measured with an insulation tester which is usually rated at least 500v.
The element is the most likely fault.
You could try switching on the power with the defrost element disconnected to see if the power trips out but bear in mind the compressor will probably not start up without an element in circuit.Steve

Thank you for your reply, I have now tested and without the element plugged in your right, the compressor doesnt run but also the electrics don’t trip, so im guessing im going to have to gamble on it being one of those required and get one ordered and hope the thing works again.

Hi all,
I have a Whirlpool S25D RBB33-A/G side by side fridge freezer but it’s not cooling down in either the freezer or the fridge.
Compressor is running, condenser coils have been cleaned (they were absolutely full of gunk), evaporator fan is working, condenser fan is working and I have replaced the capacitors on the rear control module with the kit from UK Whitegoods.
I put the fridge in test mode and it flashes up fault code 02 which is “check damper and triac for damper”.
Anyone know how I clear that fault?
Many thanks,

Forgot to mention the display shows a flashing — on the freezer side and 04 on the fridge side. It also beeps when it’s turned on and you have to hit the OK button to stop it.

Hi all,
This has been a really useful thread and I am trying to figure out if I need to change the front caps, the rear, or both.
Here is my problem:
When I open the fridge, the front display starts flashing and clicking.
I can set the fridge temp to 5 and any other temp will also cause the clicking. The fridge works fine otherwise.
I’ve disassembled the front pcb and see caps at c2, c14, c15. So if need be, I can swap those out.
Before I do that, I wanted to hear from the pros here given the symptoms I have, if I need to change a specific cap either on the front or back, or if I need to do both. I was going to just do the 4 on the front but wasn’t sure since many have been swapping out the back ones also.
Any idea?

Hi. I have the often mentioned issue with freezer temp rising, evaporator coils totally frozen over every 10 days. Anyone know which is the compressor/defrost relay for S20DRBB32-A/G 858615815000? Many thanks.

Hello,
hopefully someone is reading this threat again but i also want to repair my fridge (S20ERAA2V-A/G)
It think that the front module capacitors are broken (flickering lights when Ice Dispenser is in use) but i have searched a lot for replacement parts, but no result.
Can somebody tell me where to buy them?`Here are a pic of them:

I think you mean this one:
But the capacitors on the picture do not fit on my board…

You glue the square capacitors to the board and connect with the wires supplied.
Superglue is in the kit.

Which ones Needs to be Changed and what are the specs of the new capacitors. I come from Germany and the shipping Costs are too much for me so i want to buy the Parts on my own at our local dealer

I have never done one myself as I outsource my pcb reworks and I don’t have one to hand to look at.

I want to replace the 3 0,68uF Capacitors with 2 1uf Capacitors and mount them on the backside of the front module. But how do i solder them to the board cause i have 6 holes when i disamble the 3 old capacitors but only 4 new “legs” from the new capacitors.
How to do that?
Maybee just soldering the 2 new ones to the holes from C14&C15 and leaving C2 open?October 19, 2016 at 7:55 am #142650kwatt

I think those caps are different from the usual ones discussed at length here and, from memory, they’re impossible to get as well. I seem to recall someone trying all over the world for them and they are specials that are unique to Whirlpool so, you may have no other option but to replace the board.

Yes that correct but I want to use different ones and mount them on the backside.
Could somebody tell me if these will match:
http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/polypropy … 3834353026And how to solder 2 of them to the board when I disamble 3 old ones??
