Re: Pattern Heaters: A cautionary tale 🙁

Received from Connect some Ariston oven elements a few weeks ago. Went to do a repair, bloody element ELE4587) down to earth, luckily i had another on the van. These elements have been troublesome for years.

I have cooked elements in the oven and driven the moisture out with a mains supply minus the earth connected, most of the time it does work. It could well be that the elements sweat in the van as the temperature rises from cold to warm as we get on our way in the mornings.

I can only imagine that it is the sealing on the terminals that allows the ingress of moisture for these elements going down to earth, and not the actual production process in the factory. Surely manufacturers should pay more attention to this vital part of the procuction aspect….Rick

    Re: Connect what a joke!

Thanks guys. I DO have a dislike of 0870 numbers period, my copy of Connect retailers catalogue arrived today, inside it says they handle 1.4 million calls a year. Companies cream off approx 4 pence per minute from 0870 numbers, talk about a licence to print money, it’s just another rip off of Joe Public…Rick

    Re: Connect what a joke!

I too live in Northern Ireland and the service by DHL sucks. Connect send the order out same day and it arrives within 24 hours to the DHL depot in Omagh, that’s where it stays for 2 to 6 days until i start complaining. Neither Connect nor DHL will answer an email which really pisses me off.

I reckon Connect don’t answer the emails because they want us to use their 0870 numbers like most companies today, i can imagine that they generate thousands of pounds in a year out of their (lets rip the customer off) 0870 number, whatever happened to the days when Helen would ring and say, “hi Rick…anything you need”…ahhhhhhh distant memories….Rick

Re: Connect next day delivery? Am I just unlucky?

I moved over to Northern Ireland, and the service form DHL sucks, Connect send the parts out pronto, they arrive in Northern Ireland usually the next day, then they sit in the DHL depot for a week, or maybe forever if i don’t chase them up. I’m sick to death of DHL, and to be honest, Connect don’t seem too bothered either….Rick
