    Re: ISE10 1606W bearings

I’ve got an ISE10 (w256) that is also noisy. I’ve yet to rotate the drum without the belt attached but it is also looking like the bearing is on its way out. If that is the case I too am surprised that the bearing did not last longer at 5 years old. Well done for giving it your best shot Jonnyboy123. Im very tempted to have a crack myself but can feel myself hesitating now :rotfl:

    Re: ISE W256 no display

Ah , leaving the machine to rest overnight has done the world of good. Things seem to be working. I thought the power switch was a momentary one but now it is working it obviously isn’t. Unfortunately I managed to snap one of the plastic tabs so the panel is now sitting a little loose, but I can live with that. I also got side-tracked by an F11 code traced to a connector hanging off the control board. All seems good for now 🙂

    Re: ISE W256 no display

Very quick update before I go to work.

I checked the service manual and played with some button presses- Namely pressing the door opening button followed by the power switch for a full reset (Ithink…sorry but I’m in a rush) I now have a situation where if I hold the power button in I can hear a relay (I assume) click on the control panel and then the panel lights up normally with programmes being selectable. However, the moment I release the power button , the panel switches off. I’ll . It is only a momentary switch so I am perhaps guessing that one of those power relays on the board is perhaps misbehaving? Will investigate further tomorrow

The Miele S7 looks like a very nice machine and was a very tempting purchase consideration. Unfortunately it was just a little too large to meet my wife’s approval.

Very happy with the X4 so far 😀

I don’t know if I love mine yet – I feel like I’m more at the good-friends stage, but there is a definite twinkle in the eye, so we will see.
