ParticipantElectrofix wrote:bearings and motor as good as the day they were made
I’m amazed at the lack of grease put in bearings these days and believe that is one of the reasons for early failure.
It would be interesting to have a metalurgist compare the old and new bearings to see what other tricks are used to cause early failurealexa

ParticipantSubject: God bless the kiwis
50,000 Kiwis meet in Eden Park for a “Kiwis Are Not Stupid”Convention.
Helen Clark says, “We are all here today to prove to the world thet Kiwis are not stupid”.
“Ken I hev a volunteer.”
Carlos Spencer gingerly works his way through the crowd and steps up to the stage.
Helen asks him, “What uz fufteen plus fufteen?”
After fufteen or 20 seconds Carlos says, “Eighteen!”
Obviously everyone is a little disappointed.
Then all 50,000 Kiwis start chanting,
“GUV HUM ANOTHER CHANCE! GUV HUM ANOTHER CHANCE!”
Helen says, “Well sunce we’ve gone to the trouble of gitting 50,000 of you un one place end we have
the world wide priss end global broadcast media here, I thunk we ken guv hum another chance.”
So she asks, “What uz sivven plus sivven?”
After nearly 30 seconds he eventually says, “Ninety!”
Helen is quite perplexed, looks down and just lets out a dejected sigh – everyone is disheartened.
Carlos starts crying and the 50,000 Kiwis begin to yell and wave their hands shouting,
“GUV HUM ANOTHER CHANCE! GUV HUM ANOTHER CHANCE!”
Helen, unsure whether or not she is doing more harm than damage, eventually says,
“Ok! Ok! Just one more chance…What uz two plus two?”
Carlos closes his eyes, and after a whole minute eventually says,
“Four!”
Throughout the stadium pandemonium breaks out as all 50,000 Kiwis
jump to their feet, wave their arms, stamp their feet and scream…
“GUV HUM ANOTHER CHANCE! GUV HUM ANOTHER CHANCE!”alexa

ParticipantAs Penguin45 has exited stage right for this evening and your still connected I’ll answer from Oz although not machine specific as we don’t have that beast down here although concepts are the same.
The drain coupling is the end of the hose that connects to the pump. These often have a non return valve in them that can get obstructed.
Flush through with water or blow through with air (from the pump end with the sink end connected to the drain) to ensure no onstruction.
These drain pumps have no great force and therefore cannot blow out an obstruction.
Hot or Cold water connection is to me a matter of personal opinion.
Hot water can often halve your cycle times, but can sometimes bake food on where a cold fill will rinse off (although cold water is often in the hot water pipe till the tap is on for a while (I personally prefer hot)).
Manufacturers can recommend eitheralexa

When I am tired of earnest men,
Intense and keen and sharp and clever,
Pursuing fame with tool or pen
Or counting washing machine drums forever,Then from the halls of UKWhitegoodsland
Beyond the trackless purple sea
Old Martin’s ghost comes back to stand
Beside my desk and talk to me.Still on his delicate pale face
A quizzical thin smile is showing,
His cheeks are wrinkled like fine lace,
His kind blue eyes are happy and glowing. He wears a brilliant-hued cravat,
A suit to match his soft grey hair,
A rakish stick, a knowing hat,
A manner blithe and debonair. How good that he who always knew
That being him was a duty,
Should have gold halls to wander through
And should himself inhabit beauty. How like his old unselfish way
To leave these forums of splendid mirth
And comfort those condemned to stay
Upon the dull and sombre red earth. Some people ask: “What cruel chance
Made Martin’s life so sad a story?”
Martin? Why, he exhaled romance,
And wore an overcoat of glory.A fleck of sunlight in the street,
A horse, a book, a girl who smiled,
Such visions made each moment sweet
For this receptive ancient child.Because it was old Martin’s lot
To be, not make, a decoration,
Shall we then scorn him, having not
His genius of appreciation?Rich joy and love he got and gave;
His heart was merry as his dress;
Pile laurel wreaths upon his grave
Who did not gain, but was, success!alexa
ParticipantYes, replace module.
Phone F&P spares on 1300 650 590
Approx $200
I’d order valves at the same time as the diaphrams are notoriously for failing.
Approx $50 each
Hot and cold valves theoretically cannot be transposed as the cold valve is a proportional valve.alexa

ParticipantYou should test the the valves with the washing machine assembled with the sequence of buttons pressed as on the page 37 which I sent you.
If they only dribble a liitle water in then they are OK electrically but no good hydraulically.
If no water enters then to recheck electrical continuity (circuit), there are little copper pads on the coil to enable this test without fiddling around where the plug goes.
Do this test with the power and valve leads unplugged.
As long as the valves register 64 ohms +/- 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} then you have no electrical problem with them.
These low voltage coils on the valves are virtually bullet proof and would be only the second one I know to have failed.
Removing water from a valve may reset that valve to work again hydraulically but this will not last.
A voltage test with everything plugged in as per page 37 will give 24volts
You must only do this test if qualified as lethal voltages (380 volts) are present when the cover is removed.
These test will confirm continuity (circuit) of both the coil and the wiring (harness)
If no ohms or water, replace the valve
If no 24volts replace the Modulealexa
