ParticipantThanks for your reply.
What has worked is to remove the o-ring from the housing, place it over the heating element, place the element in the housing in the correct orientation, then force the o-ring into it’s groove from above. I used a ball end Allen key.
The machine is back in action with hot water and no leaks.

ParticipantOuch, yes that’ll probably write it off. Thanks Dave.

ParticipantWhen the white and purple wires are disconnected from the motor the machine no longer trips the breaker. So, i guess a new motor is required? Is there any chance that if i dry out the motor, clean off the salt and stop further leaks that it will work?
alexh
ParticipantThere’s a little bit of water in the base. Salty build up near the motor. Looks like it might have been leaking a little bit? Can i disconnect the heater and pump to check if they’re causing the trip?
alexh
ParticipantNeeded to change the fuse! Mine has a fused switch and a fused in the lead and i had only changed the switch box one
alexh
ParticipantAh, mines not running without it. Maybe there is another fault.
alexh
ParticipantIt’s arrived but with no spade connectors. Quite annoying.
alexh
ParticipantThank you, ordered
alexh
ParticipantThanks Dave, mine looks quite different to that though, it slides into a clip which has two integrated terminals, rather than spade connectors?

That relay has sorted it out. Thank you very much Dave.
alexh
ParticipantThank you Dave, ordered
alexh
ParticipantI have found the relay but I was measuring it the wrong way.
It’s a Schrack PBH34012 relay, only 93p each if you order 1050 🙂
alexh
ParticipantIt doesn’t seem to be shorted out -i should see connectivity between the two pins feeding that element, right?
alexh
ParticipantTrue. Is it easilylly identifiable and replaceable?
alexh
ParticipantOk, more strangeness. We can now run the fan oven without it tripping but when we turn the oven off (using the selector switch) the internal fan stops but the fan element runs red hot until we switch it off at the wall.
