I’m just thinking mabe the “click” was the PCB bringing on the heater and it blew, taking the PCB with it …. 😐 just a possibility.

You use the term “loan shark” ie. Some hard man in a dodgy suit knocking on your door. I shit you not I saw a tv advert the other day for “short term loans” and in plain writing an the bottom 3840{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} apr. Haha nice one Martin. 😉 This sort of thing really winds me up as carefully worded phone scripts tempt people, but in my opinion its a rip off,and not good for the industry as kwatt said. But atleast you showed them what for in the end 😆

    Re: Bosch do FREE callouts!

I totally disagree with you! Bosch are getting peole to sign up to a contract when they are at there most vunerable.People are stressed that there machine is out of action and Bosch are there dangling the carrot. How often do you wright off a Bosch machine because it ber? Very rarely? Now imagine if the cost of the parts were practicly nothing , how many would you write off then ?and in that situation how many parts would you have to replace to reach 250 quid…. practically the whole machine. So they are pritty much guaranteed to get 168 quid out of that person which it as much, if not more than there standard call out fee …..its like fishing with dynamite!

Re: Alternatives to rinse aid in Miele dishwasher?

In my opinion the only option you have is an all in one, we are in a very soft water area here and alot of people suffer with alot of foam in the machine because the softness of the water it doesnt react the same as a hard water.I don’t think the tabs are really that expencive anyway , not when you add up the amount of rinse aid you use , that stuff ain’t cheap. Also if you can afford a Mile machine then you could prob. spend a couple of quid extra a month on some decent all in one tabs 😉

    Re: Where’s everybody gone?

…. well I like it ……. no the search doesn’t work as well as it should but that’s just a good excuse to write a new post, and usually within that new post some more information arises. For example how many times have hotpiont w/m drums/bearings been talked about? Hundreds I expect .Well the other day I found out that they had made the belt conducive because they suspected that static build up was making the bearings fail quicker. Now if it isn’t a positive that it gets people talking more (which surely is the whole reason for ukwg site)then I don’t know what is 😉

There is a special tool bt its megga expencive for what it is. I either use a flat head screwdriver and push against th motor casing(don’t put it insied the motor because you coud break the motor winding) or i have a screwdriver with a spanner end on it and put it over the motor shaft end. I will try and find a pic of the spanner type screwdriver. 😉
