ParticipantSame email here, exactly the same thoughts as above. This guys address and postcode on his own website don’t go to the same place. The street name and postcode on his website are 7 minutes apart as well. Not a correct address and streetview (albeit a couple of years old) doesn’t show any shop. Website shows no shop or vans so looks like the guy has nothing but a PC, website and email address. I don’t think he is going to be one of the better service providers.

I would like to see some kind of regulation. Time and investment in these things is always a pain but if it was to see off the annoying niggly people who are nothing but a pain and go around bad mouthing other local companies and carrying out shoddy repair work and fitting second hand parts then surely this would be a good thing long term.

I would first like to start this with, if you don’t have personal access to this forum then should you really be posting at all? It doesn’t look to be very good posting these sort of things under another persons name, I do hope Carl is aware of what you are posting on his behalf, if a member of my staff had my work mobile I would be furious to come home and find this had gone on!!
Secondly. Some of the things you post as flaws in this system we actually think are some of the best things. There are 2 sides to every coin…..
Why do most of our customers use independents? Personal Touch!!
This is one of the things that makes mercury systems so good and versatile. If you need to speak to somebody, for a change to suit your individual company, a custom report or similar you get exactly what you want. A person on the end of the phone who understands what you want and how fast you want it and will make the change for you! Therefor your small company argument is totally invalid.Paul is in Canada seems strange to first think how that would work but when you actually sit down and mull it over you will find it is much better than a uk based company.
What hours do you work? 9-5, 8-6, maybe later….. what hours do you think a uk based company work? 9-5!! do i want somebody making changes to my shop computers while we are open and trying to serve customers? No I certainly don’t!! So our computers are dealt with late at night and in the small hours of the morning!! I am sure most people would agree that is far more convenient than interrupting your working day!If Paul were to be unavailable for any length of time I fail to see how this is a problem. The system doesn’t stop working if Paul leaves his desk, it just keeps working.
We have been using mercury systems since 2012 and are only too happy with it. I would recommend to anybody who works in the white goods industry. Once you’ve run this system for a few months you will start to ask yourself how you ever managed without.

Mercury Systems is by far the best for our industry. It ticks all the boxes ie. Stock Control, Service Calls, Receipt printer, Cash Drawer, Allows linking clients to Letting agents/Private Landlords/Insurance companies. Can’t even begin to get all the pros across on here. Visit the website http://www.hatchgatesoftware.com/Home.aspx and give Paul a call. He will certainly be able to help.

I have also supplied a few of the LG washer dryers and they are very good machines but rather costly. I wouldn’t like to be that landlord replacing 30 machines

ParticipantRe: new software for service/stock/data management
Well when it comes to this post i’m right up there with peter jay, apple electrics and all the rest of you running Mercury Systems. We have only been using it for about 3 months now and just like everybody else on here i searched and searched, googled, downloaded trial after trial and deleted them all within minutes!!! I discovered that if you are a dentist, hair dresser or something similar then there is tonnes of generic programs out there, some for free! But when it actually boils down to it, the service that we as independents offer is far more in depth than any of us notice until we are trying to purchase something to suit us!! Mercury Systems is developed specifically for us, I’ve tried to fault it, and i can’t. if something doesn’t suit my business i ring Paul and he either points out where i am using the system incorrectly or he changes it to suit me. Normally withing 24 Hours!! Show me another system that is tailored as your request. It really is what i searched for and i try to use every aspect of the system because it just makes for such an easy life!! Like i said i haven’t been using it long and its already taking care of my business, giving me more time to deal with customers and be out on the road.
hope this is of help to anybody else that has searched the web for the right product and haven’t yet found it.

I could do with somebody good for Electrolux group products, right now cookers are listed cheaper on google than from d.a.d.

I’ll second the ‘indeshit’ I repair far more of the hotpoint/indesit machines than other makes but I do also accept that these are by far the most popular machines in the market place so it makes total sense that we would see more fail. It’s just like my shop being full of Dyson vacuum cleaners for repair, there’s many more dysons in houses. However going back to cheap c**p, working on the hotpoint/indesits is awful, only a matter of time until the next cut from their poor quality cheaply made unfinished cabinets, you don’t get that with LG!! If only we could find a few containers full of something nice like the older good quality Hotpoint wm series, or maybe even 95 series!

No doubt there will be phone calls to all of our shops tomorrow asking what the engineers recommend they do as they have a machine with the same model number, you know, the way they ask so they can show us how they won’t listen!! I almost can’t wait for it to be 2 years later so I can remind them how I advised against whatever they’ve done!

Anybody else notice that the footage at the part where they’re saying it happened again with the ‘exact’ same machine was of a woman loading a Hoover washing machine and not the indesit they’re referring to at all?!?!

ParticipantRe: The shelf above the washing machine…
The ones that get me are those who dive in to clean the lid (or move the dirt from one. It to another as some do) and won’t let me near the machine while they do so no matter how many times I say “don’t start scrubbing yet, I’m taking the lid off so you can clean all you like”
