ParticipantHere’s the power board and both capacitors test fine….think I will have to give up trying to fix it now!
Thanks for the advice, appreciated!

ParticipantThanks for that info Dave, actually it is used in a rental cottage so although on during the summer for around 3 months, it’s off for the rest of the year ie unplugged.
Just wonder if I can remove and open the power module to see if those capacitors are faulty and I can replace them.
I don’t like throwing stuff away if I can fix it.
Thanks again for your advice.

ParticipantAlways left plugged in and switched on at supply.
Before the two lights flash there is a sound of relays on the power unit operating briefly!November 16, 2023 at 1:25 pm in reply to: Bosch Dishwasher SMS50E22FF 2013 Intermittent fault #488565BarnacleBill
ParticipantThanks for your reply Dave, however I removed the covers and checked, bone dry no sign of any water.

Dear Penguin and all following this,
SORTED !
Problem mechanical not electronic after all.
The paddle wheel was being pulled up against the pump enclosure.
I can only assume that slowly the threaded spindle has been cutting into the paddle hub deeper and drawing it onto the back part of the enclosure and in doing seizing up the motor.Might be some other reason entirely though.Undoing the two retaining screws between the motor and pump housing then twisting the units to unlock the lugs. Then holding the paddle wheel centre nut with … in my case a finger inserted into the housing but a slim 13mm socket (I think) would have been easier, turn the screw on the spindle from the rear of the motor (clockwise) this unscrews the paddle enabling both units to separate.
Ideally dropping a ball bearing into the paddle / spindle recess would have been best but had to make do with a short length of SS rod.
Re-assembled but now the spindle travels in slightly less far before locking up onto the paddle before moving it back onto the enclosure.Machine back in service.
Thanks again.
This forum rocks!
Cheers and happy new year.

Dear Penguin…Continental bugger it is! thanks for the capacitor info!
Have just removed the circulation motor and pump assembly to check nothing inside the pump..
Started a little stiff then became free running (turning it from the rear screw).
Nothing in the pump housing that’s clean.
Coupled up the pump to AC on the work bench…runs sweet as a nut.
Re assembled back in the machine. Tested the pump by turning the drive screw at the rear again…all smooth and loose.
Put the machine on a rinse cycle…Pumps out OK then just the sound of the circulation motor humming. Tried turning the rotor from the rear as earlier test whilst still humming..Severe tightness on the rotor…won’t really turn at all while ac supplied?
Motor problem but then why would it work on the bench?
Any thoughts?
Much obliged as everBB
