Did you ever get to the bottom of this fault……I have a fully functional fridge/freezer no error codes but the compressor is running most of the day….

Is the temperature sensor probe the same part number for the fridge as it is for the freezer evaporator….and is it easy to replace…I’ve had a look at the pcb and can see where it plugs into but find it difficult to get to the sensor as its in the middle of the evaporator plate and it won’t budge in the freezer

    Thanks

I didnt realise there were three but you can discount one of them if it hasnt got the inline fuse in the wiring loom. Its all good fun….

Yes mended mine….you disconnect the leads first then unscrew the three screws holding it in place then pull the motor fairly aggresivily away from the blade and it will come off….I had quite a row with the hotpoint sales team when they tried to sell me the wrong motor. It was quite funny when they called me back and ate humble pie having got it wrong. If you call them insist that it is the one with the inline fuse if indeed that is the one that you have.

Changed the 4uF capacitor today, checked that the motor spun freely which it did….re-assembled…..and voila…..perfect….well as much as a BFI62 can do….!! Three washes so far……now to mop up all that water that spilled out when it was on its side…god dam it !!
Thanks for all your help and comments !!

Oh dear…..I can only try and change it…..it did look a little brown around the bearing though…..I will see if i can spin it by hand…failing that…
I know how long is a piece of string but what fully integrated full size machine is best value for money at the moment ?

Thanks for the info….I pulled the machine out this morning and flipped her on her side and cut open her belly and found the good old pump recirculation capacitor measuring 0.5uF…..so have ordered a new one from CPC @ £1.60 and see if that does the job…..sorry mine was more of a hum….dont know why I said click as well !!

    Thanks for your help

    Re: Hotpoint BFI62

Have had exactly the same fault on my machine with the first two leds on the left hand side flashing.
The drain pump starts at the begining of the cycle and drains any exisiting water and then the recirc pump starts after the machine has filled with water but later on in the cycle the machine stops with the same humming noise and click.
If the capacitor in the recirc pump has failed is this a replaceable part and if not and I have to order a new pump how do you replace the crimped clips around the hoses? Is there a special tool or is it just a jubliee clip in its place having removed the old ones

    Thanks for your help
