Re: My APM6855 – some pics of the frozen area

I see. So in order to measure the continuity on that would I remove the polystyrene cover or do I need to pull the fridge freezer out completely and access the very back of it?

If only there was a technical manual for this unit …………..

Which part is the defrost heater then? 🙂

And, at that point, I’d advise an engineer. 😉

It’s okay, I’m technically minded (I repair old arcade game PCBs for a living. 🙂 ) Not familiar with fridge freezers of course, but if I know which part to test and the best way to remove it for testing then no worries. 🙂

The heater is the silver “thin tube” like part you can see which surrounds the evaporator.

    K.

So the defrost heater is the silver part connected to the thin copper tubing (which has the blue heat shrink on it)? Mostly covered in ice in the picture of course ……….

Re: APM6855 fridge temp – again!

Thanks. So how do you remove the false back from the front of the unit?

Is it in the fridge or freezer compartment?

Re: APM6855 fridge temp – again!

I guess the only way to access it is through the back? There’s no hidden panels inside that will save me having to drag out the (fitted) unit? I don’t mind doing that to fit the part, just trying to avoid it ‘just’ for testing, only to have to push it back in (a tricky job!) then pull it back out again to fit the part. 🙂

BTW, is the part I linked to going to be the correct type if the original is indeed faulty?

    Thanks

Re: Stiff Programme selector on Bosch WFD2471 washing machin

Thanks Greg, a pity I just can’t get hold of the selector controller itself (ie that the selector knob attaches to) – I’m skilled at electronics so replacing it wouldn’t be a problem, but have to find it first.

    Will try your suggestion.

    Cheers
