ParticipantThanks for the suggestions Dave and Andy
Can I just clarify the following before I get started.
We do live in a hard water area, would I be correct in assuming I’m removing the top of the machine to access the soap box from the rear to check it and clean it out?
And if it’s not blocked I need to replace the Solenoid Valve part?
Cheers Cathy

As suggested I have left the washing machine on for ten mins and sure enough, it emitted 3 beeps and then displayed error code E10
Is this a valve code?
Cheers Cathy

The noise seems to be coming from the back of the machine near the water inlet, it’s not that loud, but I can hear it over the dishwasher!
No codes on display just the timer counting down.

ParticipantI can’t be sure what number we’re referring to as none match the part number… It won’t let me attach the images.

ParticipantI have referred to videos on youtube, but none refer to the JLWM1203 or similar. I don’t have any instructions as t how to remove the front of the machine, whether it’s possible or indeed useful, so we are trying to fit the seal through the door hole. It doesn’t have any attached pipes/vents.

ParticipantWe can’t get the door seal on at all never mind the spring. We have nearly succeeded in getting the inside onto the edge surrounding the drum, but when it gets to the ‘notch’ at the top (11 O’Clock) we can’t get the seal to fit at all.
We have tried lubrication and clamps without success it’s like it’s too small. I have two strong assistants and it is taking a lot of effort to not succeed in fitting it!
Photo’s attached are of replacement seal before being placed into machine and in position (but not fitted) in drum.canshefixit
ParticipantRe: Creda (17049) not washing clothes!
I’ve had a look at the timer dial, reinstalled it, tried running the machine, it no longer spins at all, just hums, guess we’re off to the laundrette…
anyone need a fairly new door seal and or carbon brushes I’m your woman! 😥

ParticipantRe: Creda (17049) not washing clothes!
The machine doesn’t make a lound humming or buzzing noise during the cycle. I can look at the timer and it’s connections, but how would I check for a faulty control unit or faulty armature?
Cheers

ParticipantRe: Creda (17049) not washing clothes!
Replacement carbon brushes arrived promptly – thank you uk whitegoods.
Seem to install simply enough – tabs unfolded to open out brushes, machine drum went round on spin cycle. Am running complete cycle. Drum does not appear to be turning during rest of cycle – any ideas? 😕

ParticipantRe: Creda (17049) not washing clothes!
Thank you got them out! They are both in quite a state, both carbon brushes are worn down, black, one is so worn down there is metal showing in the centre, the holders themselves appear undamaged, am off to order replacements…

ParticipantRe: Creda (17049) not washing clothes!
I have located the carbon brushes there is some black dust, I am unable to remove them, they don’t appear to be held in with any bolts/screws etc, any tips? The motor is at the top and the brushes are on opposite sides of the centre.
Thanks for getting me this far – sorry for being a ditz and not picking up on the links straight away!canshefixit
ParticipantRe: Creda (17049) not washing clothes!
If it is the brushes, how will I know? Is this something that I can check myself or even fix myself? Is it expensive or difficult?
I don’t want to spend a lot of time and money on this machine if it can be avoided.
