ParticipantGone with the LEC from Boots appliances (through AO) I have used them a few times before and found them to be decent. Thanks for you help folks.

Participantthanks Don. I have seen a coupe of slimline fridge freezers. But the need is for the fridge only. Current thinking is towards a LEC 112L fridge that is 84.5 cm tall and 50.1cm high. Whilst it’s not ideal, the capacity is reasonable. I’m thinking of the possibility of installing a plinth to raise it a foot or so. thanks Chris

Participantthanks Tony. Ideally I was looking for something taller if possible. thanks for his suggestion though

ParticipantI should perhaps add that the existing fridge is a Proline model from 2008. It is working very hard, making a fair bit of noise but not keeping stuff cool. I suspect that it is a goner!

ParticipantJust to say a huge thanks for the help and advice on this excellent forum. The oven is now working again. Lovely stuff!

Participantthanks Dave – It’s basically a Whirlpool oven sold by Ikea.

Participantthanks. I have switched off power at the cooker plug. I have removed the cooker door. I have removed the two screws fixing the back cover plate.I can see the lugs that locate the bottom of the plate into the back. When I angle the cover plate forward (from top) it won’t go past the metal shelf supports on the sides. I’m assuming that I’ll need to remove one set of side shelf supports? They have metal bars that clip into the side of the oven (in fact the left rear one isn’t actually engaged). I assume that I pull the centre of the vertical bar on the front edge of the left unit to spring the top out and then remove the left side shelves to allow the back cover pate to drop down further to remove it? any advice would be great thanks
