The problem only seems to occur on the short 35° program. I’ve run the AUTO program a couple of times and it completed without problems. I’ve also run a couple of rinse programs which also completed.
Curiouser and curiouser…

ParticipantThanks, Dave. I gave it a 24-hour defrost and quite a bit of water came out; plugged it back in and it’s cooled down to -20C and held the temperature there for 24 hours so looking promising…

ParticipantForgot to mention: this is a ‘frost free’ model

All good with a full load of dishes last night: everything clean and dry and the cycle ended after 35 mins.
Many thanks for your help guys.

Many thanks, Martin. I cleaned and resoldered it (decided to use isopropyl alcohol instead of pale ale in the end ), and 10 mins into a test cycle we have warm water
I’ll try it a with a full load of dishes this evening.

I’ve done some disassembling and got the control board out. There’s definite signs of shorting/scorching on one of the solder joints: looks like it’s the K1 relay.
The relay is reading 100 Ohms across the input terminals so it looks as though the coil is OK. Is it safe to clean the joint with IPA and resolder it, and try the machine again?

Thanks for the link – that’s pretty much what I was expecting.
Given that the machine’s probably 10 years old I’m thinking about just replacing it.
