ParticipantRe: ISE and Beko: cycle times, noise levels
Hi, So I shouldn’t believe those avg. wash times provided by Comet?
And in regards to what someone else posted saying no one uses 60c any more. A great majority of the laundry done in my house and in many of my friends homes is done above 40*c especially towels and bedding. I wash towels and bedding at a minimum of 60*c regardless of it being coloured or not. I hate to think of the germs lurking in the towelling belonging to a religious 40*c user. I also wash jeans at 50*c as they can withstand it.
I generally wash whites at 50*c sometimes 60*c
Coloureds/pastels usually recieve 50*c
Jeans 50*c
Dark laundry usually 40*c
Bedding & Towels(inc. tea towels) 60*c MINFabulously detailed article though! was a pleasure to read. Also you highly recommend Bosch? I’m looking for a new machine but want one with decent water usage. And Bosch machines are very stingy with water. I want to be able to see some form of water level during rinsing on cottons programmes.
Thanks for listening to my rant!
Any Help on a new machine is greatly appreciated as the Hoover washer dryer has just been repaired for the umpteenth time and has developed a really strange squeak now. I don’t know what to do!Thanks

Thankyou so much for all your help here!!
The oven is finally working correctly!! 😀 😀
Sorry I didnt reply sooner, have been very busy with Xmas preps and whatnot.
I now have a problem with the other oven (static one on right hand side) the other night the light bulb exploded for some unknown reason, however when it shattered it caused the glass bulb cover to shatter too. Is it possible to order another lamp cover from here? as I already have a spare bulb for it.
Much appreciated

Sorry, I think it is the commutator switch that needs replacinge because one of the small armature things has broken off and thus causing it to overheat.
Can I order a commutator switch from here?

So is the commutator switch, the part with all the little armatures/contact things on?
If so I think thats the actual part that needs replacing.
If it is can I get one from here?
Many Thanks

The electrician came and said that there is not enough connections on the new part.
He said the information on the old part was:
SIMMERSTAT (spelling?)
TVE4X103
55/315*c
S56406.So the new part is no good, or is it?
Sorry for all the confusion

Right, I ordered the part with the link that was given to me, my uncle came ot fit the new part and its the wrong one, he said we need one that regulates the temperature, not just turning the oven on and off.
Please Help!

Sorry, I still never got around to ordering the part needed, however I got my uncle who is an electrician to have a look at the oven tonight and he wrote down the following information:
SIMMERSTAT (spelling?)
TVE4X103
55/315*c
S56406is this the correct information for the part I definatley need, as I dont want to end up wasting money on the wrong part.
Many Thanks

I Just tried to order the part with the Paypal link in the email Dave sent, however it shows this message:

If this payment is for an eBay listing, you can contact the seller via the “Ask Seller a Question” link on the listing page. Do you recognize this problem?

The Orange Temperature light for the faulty oven constantly flickers even when the oven dial is in the off position does this indicate the fault ?
Thanks

My Friend Owns a Samsung B1245S washing machine its less than a year old, and its onto its second repair, he has been waiting 3 months for this repair but nothing seems to be gettng done about it.
The First Repair:
The first repair was fixed within a two week period which wasnt bad service, the machine had been under average use, about 5-7 loads a week, it worked with no faults for 6 months. February 2006 it broke down, the drum had problems turning, and when it managed to turn it made dreadful grinding noises, it then ceased to work at all. A new PCB was fitted the machine worked happily once again till may 2006.
The Second Repair:
The second fault occured May 2006, the door was getting increasingly hard to shut, yet the door seal, and door all seemed to be in correct order, after a few weeks of using a little extra force to get the door shut, a drum paddle snapped off. The door now doesnt shut at all. He has a toddler around the house who managed to turn on the machine with the door open, the young boy managed to get the machine to start a spin cycle with the door wide open, to me thats obviously dangerous, thankfully no one got hurt during this incident.
My Friend Reported these problems to Samsung and they sent out an engineer within two weeks to “inspect” what faults there was with the machine, he was puzzled on why the door wouldn’t shut properly, or why it would run a spin cycle with the door open.He Told us he would order a new door seal, drum paddle and door interlock as this was what was letting the washer start with the door open.
3 Months on my friend is still waiting for the parts and the engineer to turn up to repair the machine, countless phone calls to samsung resolving nothing, most of the telephone operators were clueless, and kept telling us that there hadn’t been an order for the required parts, and that the engineer that had visited has said the machine was functioning correctly. In the latest series of Phone calls to Samsung he has been told that, they are waiting for some form of report on what is wrong with the machine, and what needs replacing.
The Samsung people said they would call within 5 days of the last call 01/08/06 to arrange collection of the machine, and they would be offered a refund or a replacement, this call never came, my friend called them on the 14/08/06 and were told that somebody had tried to call but nobody answered the phone, this is a total lie as there is nearly always someone home, if not there is an answer phone that records messages after the first two rings, so a call cant be missed.
Anyway, this problem still is not fixed, and my friend is sick and tired of using the launderette machines for 8 loads a week at £3 a load this is not cheap. I have advised my friend to contact trading standards about this carryon, or at least try and get a refund, and however much money he spent at the launderette, whilst the washing machine was out of action.I hope this whole problem gets sorted out soon, as most people could well imagine he is incredibly pi**ed off with Samsung and their Absymal service.
When this problem eventually gets sorted out, I will post another reply here explaining what the outcome is.
Sorry about the long post, I felt I needed to tell people about this, and warn them off Samsung Washing Machines.Thank You

ParticipantRe: Tablet / Conditioner Drawer Hose
I shouldn’t think it will cause much, if any damamge I did exactyl the same thing with my hoover washer dryer last year with a toothbrush and no damage done.
Although there is a bra wire stuck between drums that I cannot retrieve you cant hear it catching in wash but when in spin you can hear it catching on the drum, and i think that is what is causing the washer to rip clothes and pull threads out of towels!
Any tips on how to get the wire out??
Thanks Dan

Washing Powder for toploaders is basically handwash powder, as its designed to be used with more water,
Supermarkets produce their own handwash detergent
Ariel Handwash (powder and liquids available)
Daz Handwash and Twin Tub
Dreft Handwash
Fairy Snow
Persil Handwash And TwintubThose are the only ones I can think of at the moment, but should work better with your toploaders than regular soap powders.
I hope people on this site don’t mind me posting this. 🙂
