The newer Zanussi washers have sealed drums now.

Tried that. Hold pre-wash & soak buttons while turning knob to gentle spin. When I fitted the old pressure switch back I could select spin, rinse short wash etc with no problem. Tried the new switch again & machine displays C6 whatever program selected.
Cheers for reply

ParticipantRe: Hoover error codes
Dont know about Hoover error codes but were the score marks in the same position on each “leg” of the heater? If so, they could have been made by the inner drum (classic Hotpoint fault). Either the bearings could be going or the drum support could be cracked allowing the inner drum to wobble enough to rub on the heater.

Rinse hold button? Delicate program including rinse hold?
Classic fault!Davefridge

Another possibility is the wiring to to motor/heater chaffing on the front weight. The wires need strapping to the 2 holes on the front of the drum at the “4 o clock” position and pulling tight to keep them away from the weight. The “concrete” weights contain metal filings which makes them conductive!

Want to register for trade but haven’t worked out how. Instructions say “use link in the “information” box to the left of this message”—-there is no information box! Also says use the “create one” link in the log in box but I am already registered. I think I need to contact admin for further help.

Hi, we have 2 of these machines with the pump out only fault in our workshop. can someone tell us how to get into the diagnostics mode & fault codes? one of the machines is only 13 months old the other is 2 years old. We have the pump out only, whatever the program selected. Door locks OK, motor brushes OK, heater continuity OK, inlet valves OK & have blown down pressure switch tubing. I wouldn’t be expecting faults in these areas (except perhaps the heater) on machines of this age.
Cheers
