The bearings and seals are standard engineering fare but not sure whether the shaft is up to it and not sure of quality of replacement spiders. The first Zanussi we bought lasted over 20 years and my daughters lasts for 2! Its a shameful really. There should be minimum quality standards to stop all the waste. I know it would mean more expensive machines.

I have taken the top off and the drum does split. I would like to dismantle it just to see whats happened and wondered whether anyone has taken one of these to pieces. looks like the only way is to lift drum out from the top or can you do it from the front?
Any advice welcomed.

That seems to be the problem thanks. 2 are broken but not sure how to fix plus not sure I know which is which because all the same colour!
