ParticipantIt turned out that not only was the float sticking due to fluff, but the lower section where the condenser tray sits also had some fluff in the water trough behind it which had blocked the small passageway from there into the pump well.
We regularly clean the condenser unit, so over 7 years of use some of the fluff managed to migrate through the water trough and into the hole.

ParticipantOk found the issue – it looks like the float is sticking and the pump not then priming and sucking the water up to the water catch tray. So all the water out of the drying is then leaking all over the place…

ParticipantThanks for that Dave; looks like it’s off to scrap then.
Thanks for your helpDave

ParticipantMy initial thought was bearing failure, however…
I’m at the point of thinking of scrapping it as it’s 13 years old and the motor and pump assemblies are obsolete. To change out either the bearings or spider is going to be a good couple of hours labour…

ParticipantThanks for your help. The replacement carbon brushes and commutator cleaner arrived.
The machine has now completed it’s fourth load so I’d say it’s back in business 🙂

ParticipantThanks for the quick reply. Yes front came off easy and the brushes are right there. I’ll get them ordered and the cleaning stick too. Hopefully this is the problem sorted 🙂

ParticipantThanks.
The wires are all in very good condition within the dishwasher. I’ll stick a meter on the connections.

ParticipantHi Dave,
I received the capacitor thanks. It’s fitted and the machine is making all the right noises now, however still no water. How do you test the aquastop?

ParticipantThat’s great thanks.

ParticipantJust taken the capacitor out – it’s been leaking it’s contents. It’s a 10uF – do you have any of those in stock?

ParticipantHi Dave,
I’ve not pulled it out of the integrated unit yet. Symptoms are pretty much as per the original OP post.
No error messages, no water in coming but when the pump well in the bottom of the machine is filled with water it tries to empty it. No abnormal noises. No obvious blockages anywhere. No leaks anywhere. It doesn’t complete it’s cycle.

Dave

ParticipantThis sounds very similar to what our Neff is doing too (S5453X1GB). Sorry to hijack the original thread – would the same capacitor work on ours?
