ParticipantRe: Neff Washer Dryer Door Lock
Thanks for that. Did not see that info.
Is there any way to turn off the delay in opening the door lock? We sometimes have to wait ages for it to click and allow the door to open. It really is a pain.

Hi Brett,
Thanks for the reply.
Shame there is no mention of this in the manual!!
Is there any way to override it as it is a real pain?
Thanks, David

Thanks for your advice. Engineers came to take it away to put in new bearings but when they checked it they said it was a sealed tub so not economic to repair.
These were their recommendations:
Indesit IWDD7143 £399.99
Neff V7446X1GB £589.99
Bosch WVG30462GB £729.99
Indesit cheap and cheerful 1 year guarantee
Neff and Bosch more high end plus 2 year guarantee. All prices quoted include delivery installation and removal of old appliance
All machines are in stock for delivery Thursday/Friday.They have advised that the newer Zanussi’s are not as good as the older ones.
I’ve read your web sites advice re avoiding washer driers but have no other option. You do not seem to make any mention of Neff machines.
Any opinions on the above options, or anything else you’d advise looking at?
Thanks again fro your help.

Just to say many thanks.
I took out the PCB and there was a scorched area towards the bottom where I suspect water had been spilled from on top of the washer.
Changed the board (very fiddly!), and, touch wood, all seems to be working again now.
Greatly appreciate all your help.

OK, I’ve bitten the bullet and ordered a new board. Can you advise how to get the front panel off?
I’ve removed the two hex screws on top, and the cross head screw behind the washing powder drawer. Unlatched the plastic lug on top.
Is there another fastening somewhere hidden?!
And does the dial just lever off?
Thank you for your help.

I wonder if there is a shared power supply and by disconnecting both we take it out of the circuit somehow? Unfortunately I cant find a circuit diagram anywhere.
I’ll wait and see what Qer charge to check the board and what ukwg charge for new one.
Thanks again for help.

ParticipantRe: Zanussi Washer Dryer Fault
Tried it with washer element disconnected or with dryer element disconnected; and get same fault with each.
However just found that with ALL elements disconnected it seems to be proceeding through the programme without stopping.
Any ideas?
PS
Checked for circuit between each element and earth – nothing.davidgh
ParticipantRe: Zanussi Washer Dryer Fault
Thanks again Dave.
Finally got connectors off – needed edges to be pushed out to disengage pins from contacts.
No apparent earth leakage, and both elements have 60 ohms resistance so guess this is normal.
Best price I’ve seen for pcb is £150 from Ransom Spares. I can’t find it on UKWhitegoods web site but would prefer to buy it from you if I can?
Meanwhile I’ve emailed QER to see if they can fix it.
Thanks again

product number is 914604002 00
serial no is 738 00297
type HI944442Is it a DIY job or would I need to call someone in?
Appreciate your help and advice.
PS still cant get the connectors off! is there something to squeeze or something to lift?

ParticipantRe: Zanussi Washer Dryer Fault
Thanks Dave. Have rechecked resistance (using correct scale!) and it is 30 on the water heater element, and 60 on each of the drier elements.
Tried disconnecting the drier elements but can only pull off the single connector blocks in the middle – the doubles on either side seem to need some sort of tool to get them off? Is there a knack to it? With the singles both disconnected the same fault is occurring.
If it’s the pcb have you any idea of the cost?
Thanks again.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
It was the old faithfull split pipe on the pump. Ridiculous that you can’t replace the pipe. Has no-one come up with a replacement pipe for it?
Not sure it is worth repairing – it has been a fairly crap piece of machinery from the beginning!
Can you recommend a good replacement? Your online recommendations seem to be out of date.
I need a full size, semi-integrated ( I think that is what they call them – the bottom panel matches the kitchen units, the top panel has the controls) white machine. Not too bothered about how many functions it has – only used one on the old one.
What is the best value reliable machine around these days, and can you recommend a good suppier.
many thanks for your help.

Thanks for reply.
It sticks on all programs. The only way to get a wash done is to keep rotating the dial manually one click leave it for a few minutes on each “click” and then move it manually forward one click. This is the same on wash, rinse and spin.
Thanks,
David
