    Problem solved. I took the panel off again and it was the door switch that was stuck in the closed position. I didn’t realise that as far as the microswitch is concerned it should be depressed when the door is open. So it’s a new front panel that I need as it’s held together by a lot of araldite now and possibly to be on the safe side a new switch.

    Sorry I went to double-check the number and forgot to add it to the subject. It’s ADP8132.

    Thanks for the advice. I “dragged it out” as you suggested (which is no mean feat in itself) and the springs were fine. The problem is that the lever on the left hand hinge that the spring attaches to has sheared. Can you let me know the part number of the left hand hinge?
