Hi
Bosch for the dishwasher for sure. If the space is 600 wide then yes that is standard. There are two types of built in dishwashers, semi integrated whereby you see the control panel and fully integrated where the controls are on the top edge of the door. You need to know which as the wooden doors are different heights. The “wet” side of the install is okay if you are DIY minded, the timber door can be a bit of a rascal as the height will need to be adjusted to match the other doors in the run.
As for the fridge yep you guessed Bosch again and the same thing with the timber door.
Bosch appliances come with a good build and a two year guarantee.

We had a demo of the Whirlpool pret -a -porter at the trade show in Brum a couple of years ago, exactly the same principle. I wasn`t impressed with it then. Thing is I can iron a shirt in half the time it takes to load one in. Not something we would place on our wish list 😉
Looks good though with the fridge freezer style doors. Could be a bit of a b{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}$”^* though if you come home rather worse for wear and go searching for the munchies in the wrong unit 😆Don

Hi
Take a look at the Zanussi ZJD12191 or the Electrolux EWD1214i. Both are good honest machines with a good after sales service. If you can stretch the budget then look at the Neff V5340X0GB superb build and a two year guarantee.
Personally I would stay with the seperate machines as the energy efficiency is much better as is the reliabilty.

doug wrote:Hello
My sister who recently returned from Australia said that a lot of tumble dryers and washing machines were attached to walls with wall brackets to save space. Sounds like a good idea to me.
Are these recommended? If so does anyone know where I can get one of these wall brackets for a WTL6106GB Bosch Tumble dryer.
Not come across any wall brackets in the UK for dryers. Sounds like a good idea if space is at a premium, you could always make a shelf to suit. You would need to make it secure so it doesn`t topple over.

I know that Bosch sell/used to sell stacking kits (WTZ 1190 or WTZ 1180). Are these any good? Can you stack a Bosch tumble dryer on top of a non-bosch washing machine? The Bosch stack kits are fine. same build as the appliances. If you require one “hit” the spare part link on the home page. Stacking kits produced by the manufacturers are normally for their own appliances as long as the cabinet shape of both appliances is the same. A Google search revealed some “universal” ones. So that could be an option.

ModeratorRe: I need a fridgefreezer less than 50cm in depth
I can`t find anything even near to 50cm not even on the built in appliances, and we deal with most brands. Could the location be changed to accomodate the usual depth of machines ❓

Oh well at least the test lasted 4 and a half days. Just like last year, let the Aussies win the first one.
Roll on next test on Friday in Adelaide.

ModeratorRe: Vented Tumble Dryer – Miele or Zanussi?
Hi Carl
The Miele will offer you the longevity of life and reliability. At £600 odd the 5 year guarantee is built into the price to a certain degree I would suspect 😉 . The Zanussi will last a reasonable amount of time and give good service but at a fraction of the cost.
If budget is not an issue then I would go for the Miele everytime .
Had a customer last week who came in for a Miele appliance who had already got three others who said ” Once a Miele customer always a Miele customer” Says it all really.
Great post by the way.

After the the very first delivery from Harmison which ended in Freddies hands at first slip I just knew it was gonna be one of those days.
I think the short odds on the Aussies may be about right :rolls: .
