ModeratorRe: Gorenje
Hi Gazdoubleu
We were one of the first retailers to stock these when they arrived in the UK almost two years ago.
We were looking for a brand which offered value for money but at the same time was reasonable by way of construction and back up etc.
The guarantee of two years is also testament to the product. Any repairs are carried out by Bosch service.
The fabric of appliance seems good compared to others on the market.
We are also stockists of their Pininfarina range of appliances which have been designed by the same guy who amongst other things has designed the Ferrari cars. This is a premium range at the top end of the market.
Hope this helps your decision making you could look at their web site

ModeratorRe: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?
It sometimes go back to when they book call on the phone. You ask” what make and model number is it ” they respond with i dunno and then proceed to shout at spouse ” what make is it” without covering mouthpiece or moving phone. Result one deaf call handler. Just as bad they have a full blown cold, when they cough it sounds just like foghorn on Queen Mary 2.
Curse them all.

When they are shopping, they arrive at the checkout purchases are totalled. They then proceed to rummage through handbag / holdall for cheque book or cards muttering things like ” I`m sure it`s in here somewhere”. They know they are going to have to pay, so why not get payment ready when items are being rung into till. Ladies comments please! 😈

very interesting indeed. I glanced through the whole report and then settled on the opening stats section. Some surprising results, back in 95 when this was commissioned, the regional electricity companies in most product sectors had a larger market share than the big two sheds. the average price of a washing machine was £360!.
A lot has happened since then and not all for the better. The electricity boards were broken up and we all know what has to the price of washing machines. I wonder where the markets will be in another nine years?

ModeratorRe: Female logic???
It starts right from the weddling day. There you are the groom standing in church , she arrives in all her glory, walking down the aisle towards the altar to where you are standing. She is smiling sweetly at you ,but Hey what she is really thinking is “I`ll Alter Him” He He.
Later on you might hear her saying
“What`s mine is mine”
“whats youre`s is mine”
“whats ours is mine”then to cap it all It`s
“when I`m right I`m right”
“when I`m wrong I`m right”
“when your`e right your`e wrong”That`s womens logic for you!
Don`t you just love them?
Where are the ladies in this thread?Regards

I quite agree we are selling loads of;
40w ses clear candle for cooker hoods.
13w fluorescant tubes for cooker control panels.
3` fluorescant tubes for under unit displays.
12v 50w enclosed dichroic for cooker hoods.
240v 15w ses pygmy for fridges.
I wonder how long these lamps have not been working prolly the last six months, but just because Uncle Tom Cobbley and all are coming on xmas day not to mention the outlaws 😉 it has to be fixed right now. On top of that they are buying spare lamps for every imaginable scenario.
You would think the country is going to close down for two months rather than two days.
Kerching the till keeps ringing.

I was beginning to panic when I realised “chat” was down as new unopened bottle of Special Grouse is waiting to evaporate on Friday evening. A well done to the guys who fixed it for us. 😀

Hi everyone
I have watched this thread since I became a member in September with much interest. Since then I have learned an awful lot about the current problems this service industry is experiencing. It is clear to me that
You all care about customer service.
You all care about the industry.
You all have the buisness acumen to succeed.
You all have the expertise to succeed.
You all have the desire to succeed.
You now have UKW as a start point. You are now talking to one another which is a great. What did you have this time last year? I believe that whatever “medium” is used to carry this industry forward for the good of everyone will be found. It will not happen today it may not happen tomorrow but I believe it will happen.Remember Rome was not built in a day. Lets leave the next generation of engineers something to be proud of. I am not a member of any service organisation or body, I just care as to what is happening around me.
I have been in this industry since 1968 firstly on”brown service” for a couple of years then in sales ever since. my first employer was an independant with over fifteen branches in and around my hometown of Bournemouth which was an independant stronghold and very proud of the fact, with lots of different retailers. Many of these were taken over or closed down when the big players came to town. The number of “Indies” in my old hometown has been greatly reduced, which no doubt is happening even in you`re town.
We must stick together, remember as a united group we can achieve much much more than you can as an individual. The time is right for change we can do it.
As the logo says “its you`re industry-be a part of it!”.
I`m sorry if this sounds like a drum banging session it`s not meant to be. But I do feel passionate about this trade and its people within it. It`s now up to all of us.Regards as ever
Don
Stay 😀
