When going on a cooker call, why do customers use them- “sorry madam it’s too hot to work on ! ” P.S. “sorry I won’t be back b4 xmas.”
Why do they ring up on the day of the call – to tell us there are other faults with the appliance!
Why do they not tell us there are other faults when they report a fault.
Why do they ring up at 12.00 to ask why the engineer has not been yet! When they have been told it’s an all day call and the engineer will be ther between 8.30 and 6.00. They accepted the call slot.
Why do they not tell us they are hard to find!
Why are pensioners the busiest people on the planet!
Why do they want a cooker repairing 2 days b4 xmas when it hasn’t worked properly since they bought it in the January sales ?????
Why, if they want u to ring them on a mobile b4 calling, they don’t turn the F***er on.
These are all examples from today 23rd December.
Why do they buy **it ? How do they get out of bed ? How do they manage to breath?

Why do they give you an adress of “The Gables, London Road” When you get there you find that London Road is 5 miles long, only to get there and find number 1025 stuck on the gate

KeymasterI simply despair at the ones now that MUST have the lights on their hood working for Christmas, you’d think they could find something better to do with their time.

i hate it when appliances are integrated in such a way that makes them nigh on impossible to access. examples such as tiling upto a washer that is virtually flush with the worktop, or not using long enough waste and fill pipes.
another pet hate, especially when you’ve got a particularly heavy day on, is when you ask the customer for a brief fault description and they launch into a virtual life story.
it quite often goes something like this.me: “what’s the fault with the machine?”
customer: “well it started last wednesday, or was it tuesday? no no, it must have been wednesday, because i’d just put the bins out when i noticed, no, in fact my husband noticed first, a pool of water on the floor. at first we thought it was the dog, because we’ve just had her to the vets for a water works problem. she’d just been to the vets before for something else too, only two weeks earlier, she’s costing us a fortune at the moment.”
and you’re stood their thinking for goodness sake missus just f*****g tell me what’s wrong!!
i’m sure we’ve all been there. 😆 😆 😆December 28, 2003 at 12:52 pm #107224andy_art_trigg

I had a customer call me out for a leak and banging on spin, I stripped it down and fitted a rear half seal and replaced suspension. Then while testing the machine the customer casually said, “Oh and it sticks on all the washes and overheats if I don’t move it on”.

It sometimes go back to when they book call on the phone. You ask” what make and model number is it ” they respond with i dunno and then proceed to shout at spouse ” what make is it” without covering mouthpiece or moving phone. Result one deaf call handler. Just as bad they have a full blown cold, when they cough it sounds just like foghorn on Queen Mary 2.
Curse them all.

One of the most annoying things (and it happened today, which reminded me) is customers who ask for professional advice, then argue with you, and tell you you are wrong 😕

Sometimes I really wish we had phone recorder that we could instantly replay the calls back to the customer when they complain about something.
ie: we say “we will call between 2 &5” customer hears “we will be on your doorstep at 2”or customer says “Ill be on school run 3-3.30″ which means ” Ill be out 2.30-4.30 if your lucky”

Pensioners are by far the worst. Especially lone ones who often live in a world where time travels 3 times slower. They always tell you they will be in all day “I never go out” but then insist on trying to tie you down to a time. If you tell them “Sometime after 1 PM” they ring you up at quarter past wondering where you are.
The other stupid ones that happen all the time are when you say you will be there between say, 10 and 12 which they happily accept but when you turn up at 11:50 they complain they have to go out just after 12.

You’ve just arrived at the call, she asks if I would like a cup of tea? You say “No thanks, just had one!” (your in a hurry, your concern is fixing the fault on the machine then off to the next job!)
Just at the point where you are carefully listening to hear if the pump is working on her machine…. she turns on the kettle and the noise drowns out everything for 5 minutes or more until the kettle boils and switches off!
Then you have to move your toolbox so she can get the milk out of the fridge, you then block her access to the cupboard where the teabags are kept………..and so on………after which time you wished you had said “yes” to a cup of tea all along then just sat back for 15 minutes reading the paper or maybe go in her front room and watched the telly instead !!!!

ParticipantOr she makes the thing boiling hot and you take the skin off the roof of your mouth trying to drink it. You let it cool to a paletable temperature, and as you are ready to drink it she says, ” Oh that must be cold by now”! and gives it 2 minutes in the microwave before you get chance to reply.
What about when you are in a hurry and a little child totters down the path in front of you when rushing out to the van to get a part. Then said child waits at the gate and totters back up the path in front of you when youve’ got the part.

Let their kids mess with yer tools?
I always remember a customer whose little kid kept rummaging in me tool box. He kept taking tools and disappearing then coming back and taking another. All the while, she kept saying (in a voice that clearly indicated she didn’t even remotely mean it) “Put that down. No … Stop playing with the mester’s tools”. She eventually changed it to, “If you touch them again I’ll smack you” but several incidents later and the kids meddling continued.
Then something happened that gives credence to the old saying that “the Lord works in mysterious ways.” He picked up me big whacking hammer and twatted the fridge with it leaving a big dint. 🙂

or the house is absolutely minging and there’s NO WAY you’d consider a cup of tea!
