“I’m going to Trading Standards/my legal adviser/Anne Robinson”
I’ve dealt with customers for 17 years and heard theSe numerous times, so doesn’t really phase me. We had to call out to a customers appliance twice (I know right?) and she emailed me yesterday with the “might drop a line to Anne Robinson” a quick line regarding our service.
I draft a reply, and opened with “You are more than welcome to contact Anne Robinson, if that is you prerogative”.
Being a fast typer, I hit the shortcut for “send”. So she had that one line as my response. Brilliant.
Second one : A gentleman once threatened me with the “wrath of God” as I wouldn’t replace his drawers in a Beko fridge freezer – after doing so 2 times in 6 months previously. Actually laughed at him down the phone

Diagnosed a cooker tripping electric.
I get there selector switch blown but there is a short somewhere, the wall switch stuck, won’t move. I find a short on the cable in the wall so customer gets an electrician out to fit a new socket, he says the ring is shorting so I go back to check, no it’s wiring in the wall (didn’t the electrician check? obviously not) and new socket switch is stuck. He comes out again, all working.
Customer rings and says everything is ok now apart from only part of the ring is dead so we don’t need a new switch after all. I say it’s ordered so you do need it and you will pay me for the whole job. 👿
Son rings me, can’t you cancel the switch so I say even if I don’t fit the switch you will pay the full amount due. Alright he says sheepishly.
A final note:- absolutely minted but want it all on the cheap. Typical

Annoying but also dangerous.
When you turn up at a customers house and they haven’t got a front door key. They then spend the next 3 minutes rushing around the house trying to find the keys. “Can I not come around the back?” “No that’s locked as well and I can’t find the keys.” was the answer.
One thought comes mind: “How are you going to get out of your house,in the middle of the night when there’s a fire?”

Yes yes yes. I couldn’t agree more. Even had one yesterday. Mother was childminding at a job yesterday and even she was gobsmacked by the number of bags her daughter had… 100’s stuffed under the sink. What is it with plastic bags ?

They’ll store far less next year when supermarkets charge 5p for them.

Not the best place to keep the bags under the sink as bio degradable bags are now used in most shops so will fall apart if they get wet.

Plastic bags are in short supply in my house as we use it to pick up dog poo.

Ah under the sink an extension of a womans’ dressing table – every cleaning product advertised on the telly. If you live with a woman you’ll see all those lotions, potions and pills on the dressing table or in the bathroom, being a bloke you wont have a clue what they are for. Go to a bachelors pad and all he has under the sink is washing up liquid for his two dishes and mugs and bleach for when things get bad, oh and washing powder for ‘the wash’.

Allow rats to crap in the cooker then expect it repaired.
Unicorn poo, Wtf.
Anyway all the insulation contains the liquid waste and all the dark bits are not wild rice.

Customer recording everything you say on their mobile phone to try and make a case to the retailer/manufacturer that their new cooker is faulty and why all of their buns have burnt. 😈
