Re: Hotpoint Aquarius Dryer Model TDL31P Not ‘Auto Drying’

Hi Guys – I’ve got the lid off the machine and cannot see anything obvious other than a lot of fluff!! Any further tips on why my dryer is not ‘auto drying’?

Martin – Thanks for your comment, but the Auto Dry light will only come on if the High Heat is selected so that is ok. The Auto Dry cycle is not drying the clothes so I am assuming there must be some sort of ‘drying’ sensor that is causing the problem. – DM

Just recently cracked on with the problem by re-checking all connections. Visual inspection of PCB could not identify any obvious dry joints but ‘touch soldered’ some connections just in case!

Tested on completion, and hey presto the heater worked ok during a full cycle. Replaced all panels and tested again…………….no heater. I give up.

Seamy – When I monitored the 240v at the heater, I was measuring at the element ends. Are you suggesting that I should monitor the 240v at the heater terminals to check whether it remains constant? I can’t see any obvious ‘cut out’ arrangements between the terminals and the element ends.

Re: Siemens SE65E330GB – Leaking Pump

I managed to remove the circulation motor and clean up the seals which had ‘gung’ deposits at the point of leakage. Refitted all and appears leak free but will wait a few days before buttoning everything up. No discolouration in the tray and the motor loopks shiney new, so hopefully I caught it just in time.

It was a long day, and facinating to watch the matrix and associated chambers/floats operating during a cycle; quite clever!

Minor problem now is that the dispenser flap will not slide shut. I may have obstructed the rear linkeage when I replaced the front panel. Thanks again.
