ParticipantRe: Ariston drum bearings stuck to spider!
OK, forgetting the outbursts, I found the new bearing very very hard to push in. Can’t now remember exactly how I did it but after initially forcing it in with a flat face and hammer I may have used a drift punch progressively around the outer edge to finish it off; punch slipped off once or twice and distorted the seal. As the damage was not too bad I am hoping it will last well. I don’t need to change it again immediately.
The suggestion to use the old bearing as a ‘pusher’ seems good but I am still not convinced that this would have made it easier to push and how do you kept it centralised relative to the other bearing until it goes into the housing? Heat/cooling it the official mechanical engineering approach (I am one of these, albeit not washing machine expert).

ParticipantRe: Ariston reboot/module fault
Now its hopefully working OK I notice that if I turn dial to a dot I get 2 slow flashes, then 3 or 4 rapid flashes (too fast to count) then continuous slow flashes. Is this normal behaviour?
When cancelling programme it’s similar except that first 2 slow flashes are one long one.

Sounds similar to my Ariston A1535UK. I replaced the bearings. Found that it was very difficult to remove the bearings and I slightly damaged the seals on the new ones banging them into the spider.
I wondered if I should have heated the spider up and frozen the bearings to make fitting easier. Anyone tried this?

The red light flashes with a consistent flashing. No particular pattern. Elsewhere on Forum I read you can reboot by turning dial to a dot and turning m/c on. I did this and got a few rapid flashes. All is OK now so a reboot must have solves things.
