    Re: mice !

Had a vermin related job many years ago, cooker not working, went to check the fuse & found the bl**dy fuse box blown of the wall!! Turns out mice had got in the cooker ,behind the control panel [to get warm], got a bit hungry & chewed through all the wires!!!! Smelt a bit ram, plus they were welded to the spot!! I think the customer was a bit deaf,as not to hear the bang [well deaf now].

I checked out some m/cs in Malayasia a couple of years ago & most of ’em where top loaders, plus some twin tubs that looked as though you had to have ’em plumbed in like our Autos. I think they were made by LG & Samsung, oh & in the corner of the showroom with a proud notice on it stating ”NEW MODEL IN” an Indesit 😆 😛 , poor souls what have they let themselves in for? Poor Hotpoint Engineers have got enough to do without a 13 hour flight to fit a module or tub 😛 😉 😉

I’ll narrow it down for you, last monday a bill went through it’s final phase called ”Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Bill”. It comes into force in 2008 & under the act any worker likely to come into contact with the young- including tennis coaches ,hospital maintenance staff etc, etc, will have to submit to vetting by the Criminal Records Bureau [CRB].
Employers & employees alike who fail to do this will face fines of up to £5000! According to the Education department some 9.5 million people will be affected. Admin fees for these checks vary from £7 to £30, you also need 3 seperate forms of ID & a possible 4 week wait for the results.
Even the poor Scouting Association’s annual CRB bill is now at £250,000 at the moment. So if you’re a repairman or a volunteer for the kid’s christmas panto you’ve got to be vetted, what sad times we are in & who benefits ? The Goverment hmmmmm???
take easy out there guys n’ gals, sleep well! Chris.. 8)

Re: Hoover AM120:Ghost in the machine!

This is quite a common fault on the new servis machines, module every time. (Triac fault). I assume if you put the hot valve wires onto the cold valve the cold valve energises? The only other odd faults I’ve had on this type of machine have been due to low heater insulation and pump coil shorted. Have you checked the resistance of the pump rather than continuity?
Even tried new pump & yes swapping wires sets the cold valve off!Even with the heater disconnected it still does it’s own thing! I tell ya it’s haunted 👿 . Chris.. 8)

Hi there, tried this pt# this morning on Electrue, Partcentre & Uni-fit sites, not recognising pt#? Any ideas please?

    Re: Parts Center’s new website

I have to agree with you it’s not a patch on the old ‘stocklink’ system! We are currently using ‘Electrue’ site, haven’t used wash-vac for months. Apperantly the ‘Uni-fit’ site is supposed to be good, ain’t used it like but might give it a go.
