Hi, as far as I know Qualtex still do ’em at least for the 1800,95 & early wm m/cs. Well it says so in our catalogue, but it is getting on a bit [much like messen’ 😆 ]

Thanx for the reply Chris, but I did that, all ok , looks as though the water just runs in & goes straight out again 😕 I have watched it with the lhs panel off, the float chamber stays dry! When its filling if i lift the rod up from the overflow float it cuts out the fill progress which I would think is correct, let go & it carries on ok till time out. Then it carries on pumoing & trying to wash!

    Re: Bespoke kitchen ding dong!

Why on these fitted kitchens does the kickplate have to be a tight fit to the underside of the units, you carn’t see under them anyway. Had one t’other day,it where a reet b*st*rd, wouldnt shift, then Mr customer says”i’ll shift it,give it ‘ear” & then snaps it off 😆 .At least he did it,but yeah if it won’t come out easy[oh err missus], then tell the customer to get it removed, cos if you do any damage to owt, you can bet yer arse they will sue you 👿 & if you do sucessfully do the repair, don’t forget to charge extra,I always stick a few quid on as soon as I walk into the kitchen! My old mate used to work for Servis yonks ago & after one of their engineers had damaged a worktop or summat like that, a service bulletin went out the next day advising all engineers NOT to remove any built in appliances , turned out that the kitchen was a one off & the kitchen firm didn’t have any spares for it, so new kitchen ,KERCHING. ❗ 😆
Happy days out there Guys, Chris 8)

Re: Leaking Indesit dishwashers. Is there a technical bulle

I heard this one aswell, the only tip I had, was that the new bottom seal fitted inside the well of the m/c [after removing the old ‘un from the base of the door],then to protect the new seal you had to put some kind of tape over the sharpe edge on the base of the door. They quoted some part # that turns out to be obsolete :rolls: but all is not lost, get a hold of some of that aluminium foil tape that Hoover engineers used on the Starlite model vacs, it’s the same stuff! I’ve done a couple & so far so good, but typical Merloni design 😈 👿 .
Hope this helps ,cheers Chris.. 8)

    Re: Golden Oldies

I used to go to an old lass who had a Hotpoint Empress & I think a Princess. She washed in one & ringed ’em out in the other! Best thing was they where farmers, so she struggled with these ancient machines & hubby drove about in a brand new Jag!!!! When ever we did any work on ’em, he would always want the bill made for a repair on the farm’s power washer!

    Re: tight customers

I use to work for a firm yonks ago they rented TV’s out, and when a customer was behind with the rent, and refused to correspond to any of our letters, one old guy that worked for us would go round on an evening and stick a pin through the coax cable on the outside wall.Next day we would get a call saying “we carn’t get a picture”. Engineer would turn up make some excuse that he had to take the set away for workshop repairs.
Then we don’t take it back unless they cough up , oh then we do em for new coax an’all. This was mostly in places called Benefits Close etc…
nowt to do with washers but a good story,I hope you agree,we aren’t the only engineers to get this kind of hassle from tight customers. Cheers Chris…

Re: THE THINGS CUSTOMERS SAY ?

I know this is nowt to do with washers but alot of years ago[when I where a lad] went to mend an old t.v [405 lines telly]. the old biddy was there with the back off dusting the valves with cotton wool held with non insulated scissors, 🙁 oh & it was switched on!!! ”just giving it a clean before you look at it” 😀 .God bless!
    Chris..
