Now not convinced it’s the water pressure. No improvement with other taps in the house open which I assume would lower the pressure to the machine? It looks like it’s now a consistent fault – the drum won’t turn on any programme, including spin (it turns ok by hand) and the door won’t open at all (have to use the manual opener) except occasioanlly when it’s first switched on after an aborted programme.

That’s interesting, thanks. I noticed the kitchen tap had started dripping recently and thought that’s something else that needs fixing. Maybe the supplier has fixed a leak somewhere..

Resurrecting an old thread. Did you get anywhere with this or did you scrap the machine? I have pretty much the same symptoms and the same resuts from test mode. It’s had a good innings but could be time for a new machine I think.

    Hi Bryan,

    Thanks for your reply.

I thought I had checked everything carefully, but you prompted me to look again and sure enough there is a very small leak where the water enters the tank from the soap dispenser. This has been repaired before (the machine has been back to the retailer a few times for this fault) – what is the best way to fix this now? It looks like some sort of sealant has been applied previously which has now failed. Do I need some special sealant to fix this or will standard silicone sealant do the job?

    Thanks
    Peter

Update: After draining excess water, setting the programme to “STOP” and switching on, the element comes on AND the machine starts to fill with water. Could this indicate a faulty controller?
