    Re: Hotpoint WD440P motor problem

    Fault found yippy!!!

I have learnt the school boy error, don’t tip your machine with the draw on top!

Water was on the board and connections, dried of with a hair dryer, and urika, the dam thing works!!! ( 😥 just hope I haven’t caused problems for the future, at least I will know where to look. All in all cost me £4.78 for a motor bearing and £4.99 for some araldite to fix the tacho magnet onto the motor shaft, every wash till the next failure feels like a bonus, (i am going shoe shopping with my daughter tomorrow 😀 she will be pleased

    Thanks againg for your help

Re: hotpoint WD440p seems dead when plugged in

I am getting power into the machine for sure but not sure if it is getting through to the circuit board, the capacitor I have noticed has a slight disculering on one of the wires, which dosnt seem normal 😯 , (although I did have problems with the motor ceezing up might have caused that, possibly?)

There are 3 boards in this machine (I think?) Any idea which one will be at fault?

    Thanks for the quick response.
I have just fitted the parts back as described but there is still no lights at all. I have checked the connections to the motor which seem ok.

Is there a combination of buttons I need to press to reset the machine?
