When the door is closed and the program has been reset before hand, the door locks and the light flashes. The timer knob keeps going round and round. I am trying to see if we can fix it. If we can’t fix it by early next week I will just call Indesit.

Yeah it is covered by Merloni warranty but we regulary repair minor faults and deliver the machine back to the customer as soon as possible. This particular machine is for one of our contract clients who prefer us to supply/fit and repair machines. If it is something major we book a visit with Merloni for the customer or collect the machine and ask them to repair it in our workshop.

I think that the cooling off period does not apply if the customer has physically opened the package and “tested” it – that maybe applicable if the retailer states that is the case. Plus the retailer can deduct postage charges from the refund.

    Re: Customer Database

Has anyone developed/purchased a good database system to record jobs/customer info?

I made a basic access database to record jobs and make basic vat monthly statements for account customers. I am (slowly) working on a more advanced database system which will allow me to assign jobs to account customers or public, track job history and display the history on screen with a simple search and a few other features. I did have a nice app based on website entry which had a backend Access database and a front end ASP website for storing job info, customer info, there was a section for customers to login and view progress on jobs. I used it a few years ago with one of my account customers, it was quite useful but I had to customise it quite a bit. I left for months and managed to lose all of my code and the company who made the application closed down 🙁

Re: Glue for oven door? (Indesit…)

    Hi,
I normally use a heat resitant glue (forgot the name) to repair oven doors where the inner door has come unstuck. Some ovens are heavily used and the oven door is solid. Whirlpool doors are very expensive to replace – they cost from £70-150 to replace just one section.
