ParticipantRe: White Knight 847 – No power light but mains OK
Hi
When you say you checked it had power, I take it you plugged a different appliance into the socket and didn’t do any LIVE testing :zap:
There is no need to do any live testing and we do not advise that to any future readers of this post.
If you are to do any further fault testing, please can you un-plug the appliance before proceeding :plug:Greg

ParticipantRe: whirlpool S20B RWW20-A/G ICE MAKER
Hi
No its one water feed but seperate valves for water and ice making.
There is so many factors involved in why you aren’t getting ice and IMHO you would be far better getting pro help rather than DIY as it can become costly.
Please use the link below to find an engineer local to yourself.HTH

ParticipantRe: Neff Microwave
Hi Boro
In their defence, I think Neff have addressed the problem because the magnatron has had a part change and Ive not been back to any since :tup:Greg

ParticipantRe: Neff Microwave
Hi
This breed of microwave isn’t the same physically as most standard microwaves. The high voltage is created by a module pcb rather than the seperate conventonal transformer, capacitor, diode and limiter array. The most common fault on this type is crack/s in porcelein of magnatron inconjunction with the afore mentioned PCB.
PCB – 482202 – £115 list
Magnatron – 268142 – £86 listIf you are having trouble obtaining the spares direct, I’m sure our own Dave Conway will be able to source for you 😀

ParticipantRe: More Caple conundrums
Hi Jim
Should be on flexi hose so no problem there. It may/should be chained so uncouple that. Just take it easy and observe the hose tension, hopefully none; when extracting.
Will be easier with two people and to keep H & S happy 😀Greg

ParticipantRe: Slight electric shock off whirlpool AWM 8163
Hi
It sounds like going to be an earthing fault either of the appliance or the socket. If your hand was on the sink unit stainless, then you will need to check there is a good earth on that aswell.
The best advice to be safe is to get the appliance checked out by a qualified engineer and the house electrics by a qualified electrician IMHO.Regards

ParticipantRe: Essential Winter Reading
The solution is really quite elegant. The muscles that operate feet and flippers are not located in the feet and flippers, but deeper in the warmer regions of the penguins body. The feet and flippers are moved by tendons that pass through them and attach to toes etc. like a sort of remote operation by wire or string. This means that it doesn’t matter if the feet and flippers get really cold as they can still be operated normally by regions that are fully functional and at normal body temperature.
Penguins have a heat-exchange blood-flow to these regions. The warm blood entering the feet or flippers flows past cold blood leaving so warming it up in the process and cooling the blood entering at the same time. Blood in these parts is significantly colder than in the rest of the body. By the time the blood re-enters the rest of the body it has been warmed up and so doesn’t have so great an effect on the core body temperature. 😉
