Heater is defiantely not straight forward on these.
Its the access room thats the problem and its a devil of a job TBH.
IMHO it would be better to seek pro help on this one, see repairs@ on the LHS for your nearest engineer 😉Greg

Hi
At the rear there is a pop out rectangular plate with the fill valve spout coming out of it.
The fill valve solenoid is behind there. It should read app 2-3 kohms.
Power off before you attempt any fault finding.Greg

Hi
Ok that is the heater but you should be reading off the two main spades either side of the safety switch on the heater, you can’t miss them. They will have earth tag/s around each one of them FYI.
Red wire to one side and white/green to the other.Greg

ParticipantRe: Bosch SGS5342GB/17 FD8105 excessive cycle time, not drain
Hi
Yes insufficient circulation due to low water fill or whatever will give no heat.
Heater is on the RHS behind panel FYI
It is a heaterbox not the usual looking element looking 😉
Power off first, yea 😀Greg

ParticipantRe: Bosch SGS5342GB/17 FD8105 excessive cycle time, not drain
Hi
Ah yes the crud build up 😉 Yes is the answer the water matrix/water inlet will have to be replaced as the breather sounds choked up.
Part is available by contacting spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk quoting p/no 448903.
This blockage and the following will also give you that dreaded 1 left in display.Other places of crud interest are the pressure chamber on LHS next to the water matrix, and also the ribbed clear transfer tube which o rings into said chamber and terminates into sump manifold at the front bottom.
That tube can be removed and cleaned, the pressure chamber is a bit trickier and may also need replacing p/no 263186 also available from spares@.Greg

ParticipantRe: Bra wire Bosch washer/dryer WVTI2840GB (plus smell issue
Hi
If you are lucky and very careful, run your hand thoroughly around the drum inner; the end of the bra wire maybe protruding 😀 Grab it carefully with a pair of pliers, job done.
If this isnt the case then I would seek pro help from the repairs@ link on the left 😉Greg

ParticipantRe: Bosch SGS5342GB/1,7 FD8105 excessive cycle time, not drai
Hi
Its either going to be a crud blockage in the usual places and/or heater or module faulty.
Heater should read app 20-30 ohms.
It is also correct to have about an inch of water below the filters in the sump recess.
The heat you are feeling is as you correctly said, heat from the wash pump having been on for an excessive time.Power off if you are to investigate :plug:

If its not draining you will ned to remove pump inspection cover in sump.
Remove filters and it will be on the LHS in recess, retained with a torx 20 screw.
Remove cover and see if there is any foreign object in there 😀Greg
