    thanks for previous help guys. what i have done now is taken the back off the machine, the belt was in place. also i tried draining the machine and could hear the pump working. i have taken the brushes off and 1 of them was quite badly melted. i am presuming that this means they need changing? the other thing i noticed was that the part of the motor that the brushes touch onto looks as though it has worn on a part of it. does this mean that the motor will have to be changed aswell? if so would it be better to get a new machine or replace the parts? thanks.glenn.

    ok penguin thanks for that i found it. problem 2 i have taken the filter out and found some coins, i have removed them and done another wash. this time it lets me open the door, but unfortunately my clothes are still sopping wet. any ideas?
