    Thank you for that, I did ask at the local repairer and he said it is not economical to repair, it would cost-a-lot.

    I really would like to have a go at repairing it, you see my husband already thinks I’m crazy to consider it and I really want to prove him wrong AGAIN! Since the alternative is to get a new machine, I don’t have an awful lot to lose (besides pride), but I really like this machine and don’t want to replace it just yet.

    If anyone can give me any tips for taking this apart I would be so very grateful. Thanks anyway for reading this.

    Please could anyone tell me what tool I need to remove the ‘cabinet fixing stoppers’ of this washer/dryer Zanussi WDS1183W so that I can open the cabinet for a look-see? I have a star shaped screwdriver but it is too big. Maybe one of these, but what size? Thank you

    Wow what a great site! Thank you both iadom and penguin45 for your incredibly fast responses, I am impressed.

    I will check the inner drum around the door seal but from what you say, it looks like I will have to call the cavalry after all. Your advice has probably saved me from wasting heaps of time and patience. Thanks again.
