    I agree clive.
They seem to offer full refunds to customers who buy from their various web sites.
but to me .this is a form of discrimination against traders like myself.who have spent hundreds of pounds with their company.
i have purchased a door seal off this site (ukwhitegoods).which was a lot cheaper than connect.and superfast delivery.

What is to stop anyone going out to an appliance with no idea of any fault finding, ordering motor, pcb, pressure switch, door lock, valves and trying them all until it works and then returning all the other parts.

it may not be connects fault.but looking on other sites.espares for instance.have a full refund/credit facility and only charge £2.95 return postage.
    also your quote;
What is to stop anyone going out to an appliance with no idea of any fault finding, ordering motor, pcb, pressure switch, door lock, valves and trying them all until it works and then returning all the other parts.

if someone has no idea of fault finding on any appliance.they should not touch it.

i’m also not in the habit of going to jobs.and ordering all the items you mention just to find the fault.
my point being from the beginning is the 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} deduction being taken.

You ordered them and they were what you asked for. Why do you think they should take them back ? and for no charge?

it was not fit for the purpose. pity argos doesnt sell spares under their 16 day money back guarantee
ive been a loyal customer of theirs for 16 years.
i am also a call and collect customer who have saved them money in delivery costs.

sorry dave,if i treated my customers like heaterbands treated you,i would not have many customers. i will delete their name from this site.and will probably send them an e-mail stating they don’t deserve to be recommended to anyone, i work from recommendations.so if some supplier messed me about.its their loss.theres always someone else somewhere, WILLING TO HELP. 😥

    fuel duty

since i bought a diesel car about three years ago.diesel fuel has shot sky high.when we had the fuel protest(which i supported) .i started mixing diesel with parafin .but then the goverment said anyone caught would be prosecuted,no parafin.no cooking oil, they tell us to use public transport.i don’t think they will let me on the bus with a toolbox and a washing machine.perhaps prescott might lend me one of his jags.by putting fuel prices up we have a knock on effect like higher food prices.repair costs have to go up.but not always do the price of spares come down.because of transport costs and our fat cats. when we had a fuel protest last time the road haulage association should have got the car driving public to back them.only fuel for essential services would be allowed.GOVERMENTS should get their act together and think of us working class people.the emoticon i,ve added is probably tony blair after the next budget. 😆

The following are an explanation of specific error codes that may appear if there is a problem with a GDA washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher or refrigerator.

    Error Codes for hotpoint appliances,

    WASHING MACHINES & WASHER DRYERS

E10 – No cold fill. Check that the taps are on or if the drain hoses are kinked.
E11 – No hot fill. The ambient temperature is likely to be below freezing possibly due to the pipes being frozen. Also check that the taps are on or if the drain hoses are kinked.
E12 – No mixed fill. It is likely that the water is not turned on at the taps.
E13 – Check the water supply, inlet valve and hot and cold hose connections.
E14 – A fault with the water heating has occurred.
E15 – Water is not being pumped out and a flood condition could occur. Check that the drainage hose is raised to the recommended minimum height and that the pipe is not blocked.
E16 – Extremely high water level Disconnect or turn off the water supply and ensure that the water level does not rise any more. Then book a service engineer.
E17 – Door not closed properly. Close door firmly at the 3 o’clock position.
E20/1 – The thermistor resistance has drifted or the temperature scanning sequence is incorrect. The ambient temperature could be below freezing.
E30/31 – A motor drive problem has occurred. Try running the programme again. If the problem persists book a service engineer.
E40 – Water below protection level during a heat step.
E41 – Water level detect sequence incorrect.
E50/51 – Customer language and wash programme have not been saved. The system will run with default conditions (1000rpm max and English language). Book a service engineer to re-programme your product.

E20 – Temperature under range. Book an engineer.
