ParticipantThis could be quite a handy resource.
If anyone knows error codes from any appliance please leave the details here.
To do this, hit the reply button while viewing this message, change the subject to the Manufacturer and model number of the appliance concerned and list the error codes.
Please don’t leave requests for codes here, ask for those directly in Technical Enquiries.
This could build in to a very useful database.
Dave.

THIS FAULT IS’NT A FAULTITS TO TELL YOU THATTHE CHILD LOCK IS ACVITATED.
YOU CAN DISENGAGE IT BY HOLDING DOWN THE FOLLOWING BUTTONS TEMP AND ECO/RAPID TOGETHER.THE FOLLOWING FAULT CODES AND MEANINGS IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED ARE
OE = PUMP BLOCKED OR WATER NOT PUMPING OUT ( LOOK FOR A 5P IN THE PUMP IMPELLOR )
IE = NO WATER INTO APPLIANCE CHECK WATER TAPS ECT
DE = DOOR OPEN OR NOT LOCKED
UE = IMBALANCED LOAD
SE = NORMALLY MOTOR FAULT BUT COULD ALSO BE MAIN PCB FIRST CHOICE IS CHANGE MOTOR.
CE = CURRENT ERROR SHORT CIRCUIT TO MOTOR OR MAIN PCB DUFF
LE = MOTOR LOCK ERROR – HALL EFFECT SENSOR FAULTY
FE = TO MUCH WATER IN TUB

Here are some Smeg diswasher error codes for fully integrated dishashers with display. (Not the latest type)
E2 over fill detected, more likely though it is not overfilling, just thinks it is.
E3 not heating
E4 thermister disconnected or o/c
E5 no water fill
E6 heating detected with no water present
E7 not draining
E8 read error, rest and try again
E9 pause in test programme, not a fault code.July 12, 2003 at 10:11 pm #103852eastlmark

ParticipantThe following are an explanation of specific error codes that may appear if there is a problem with a GDA washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher or refrigerator.
Error Codes for hotpoint appliances,
WASHING MACHINES & WASHER DRYERS
E10 – No cold fill. Check that the taps are on or if the drain hoses are kinked.
E11 – No hot fill. The ambient temperature is likely to be below freezing possibly due to the pipes being frozen. Also check that the taps are on or if the drain hoses are kinked.
E12 – No mixed fill. It is likely that the water is not turned on at the taps.
E13 – Check the water supply, inlet valve and hot and cold hose connections.
E14 – A fault with the water heating has occurred.
E15 – Water is not being pumped out and a flood condition could occur. Check that the drainage hose is raised to the recommended minimum height and that the pipe is not blocked.
E16 – Extremely high water level Disconnect or turn off the water supply and ensure that the water level does not rise any more. Then book a service engineer.
E17 – Door not closed properly. Close door firmly at the 3 o’clock position.
E20/1 – The thermistor resistance has drifted or the temperature scanning sequence is incorrect. The ambient temperature could be below freezing.
E30/31 – A motor drive problem has occurred. Try running the programme again. If the problem persists book a service engineer.
E40 – Water below protection level during a heat step.
E41 – Water level detect sequence incorrect.
E50/51 – Customer language and wash programme have not been saved. The system will run with default conditions (1000rpm max and English language). Book a service engineer to re-programme your product.
REFRIGERATORS
E1 – Freezer thermistor open circuit.E2 – Freezer thermistor short circuit.
E3 – Fridge thermistor open circuit.
E4 – Fridge thermistor short circuit.
E7 – Evaporator thermistor open circuit.
E8 – Evaporator thermistor short circuit.
E9 – Temperature set switch open circuit
EA – No feedback from Baffle
EB – Fridge Baffle motor operating continuously
EE – Defrost time out
DISHWASHERS
E10 – Fill or empty time out. Check that the hoses are not kinked, that the taps are on or whether the drain pump or hose is blocked.
E11 – Heater timed out. The heater has not reached the required level in a certain amount of time.
E20 – Temperature under range. Book an engineer.
E21 – Temperature over range. Book an engineer.
TUMBLE DRYERSE1 – The level of required dryness has not been reached within the time period. Check that the correct programme has been selected
E2 – Thermistor or sensing circuit failure
E3 – Heater plate over temperature. Check the filter and vent hose for a possible blockage.August 29, 2003 at 3:38 pm #103854eastlmark
ModeratorAEG 72600 (1997) lavamat washing machine codes
These are error codes for the AEG German made lavamat 1997 on.
These are only guides as the position of the timer indicator should also be noted if any of these codes are shown, but at least it should point you in the right direction.
C1 not filling/ too slow fill
C2 not pumping/too slow pump output
C3 Aqua control activated, either over fill or leak in base or open or short circuit pump.
C7 Not heating or, oddly, leaking thru solonoid valve
C8 dreaded NTC fault
C9 Tacho or motor fault (brushes even)
CA motor triac short circuit
CD door lock faulty
CE Water distributer fault (this machine has a small motor in the dispenser to select the compartment to fill through, this in turn operates a microswitch inside the dispenser. If this has not been activated within 2 mins, then this code is displayed*very common fault we find)
CF double dreaded EEprom fault (ask Alex!)Some of these faults are locked in and will return even if machine is disconnected, the only way to clear them is to run the test programme. Hold in Pre wash and soak button while turning rotary knob to gentle spin.

A fault with no fault code indication = faulty module
These codes should cover the entire range of Whirlpool dishwashers.
Test Mode
Make sure the appliance is empty of water before running Diagnostics as it does not pump out before starting to fill and therefore you could overfill the appliance.
Open the door and set the program to the first program. (Normally rinse).
Turn the power off.
Press and hold the start button and while holding turn the power on.
After a little while the start button will flash, release the button.
Press the start button once and close the dishwasher door.
The machine will now run through a diagnostic routine.
If memory serves me right it takes about 20 mins.
The machine will stop during diagnostics if an error is found and will display the error code. If no error is found it will complete the diagnostics and end the programme. To exit diagnostics at any time just press and hold the start button till the programme is cancelled.
