Dragan wrote:Hi,

If you have any experience and required tools you must use it!
I have the impression that you were afraid.
Be brave and finish that job!Dragan
Ehhhh….. What exactly are you on about FF91P Mistral is a model – I haven’t looked at the fridge yet but I haven’t worked on Frost Free before and no I’m not afraid – the job is for my brother in law – I was hoping to get some pointers from somebody who had worked on them before that’s all

ParticipantRe: Securing machines in your van?
How about a makeshift well? – Bit ‘O’ work but if you are imaginative enough – a trough of somekind would do it
I’ve driven with machines in the back for a long time – ruined the bodywork of many a van – I don’t do it anymore but if you do it all the time it might be worth making some sort of ‘base’ 60 x 60 / 24 x 24 that the mahine will marry into?
Just a suggestion

ParticipantRe: work dead
It’s as dead as a vampire over my way (Ireland) anyway – we are really feeling the pinch here – it’s bizzare – nearly every customer that walks in the door are speculating – ” You Guys Must Be Flying” – “Ah we holding our own” is my retort but the fact is we are struggling to stay open – Our takings are in the red!

reaper wrote:Went to a w/pool Awm 5104 yesterday – the bearings had gone damaging the heater and putting a small hole in the front tub.I told customer it was BER.However out of curiosity the customer wanted to know the price of the parts.Front tub, rear tub, drum and heater total retail price £592.97.Customer was cured of ever buying a whirlpool again.Nearly every call I get on whirlpools is a bearing fault – just go for the callout and to rubbish whirlpool – serves them right.

It’s the everyday story of my life. I’m in Ireland and the prices of their spares is rediculous – apart from that your working off a dated cd-rom – namely SIOS and if your unsure you have to take the time to get an up to date price from Whirlpool which you KNOW the customer is going to most likely reject.
Fact is – what they are really trying to sell is their BS guarantee

Call out charge and labour reflects not the job being done or the going rate but what that particular business overheads are.
Why should clients fund bad business.
Pretty much the norm as far as I know it – ‘cides I wouldn’t want to guarantee things for any longer myself – no matter what you do the customer will blame you if anything goes wrong in the next millenium anyway

Totaly agree – come tommorrow I am going to have big words with them – they are rejecting returns that are their own mistakes or fault
I spend about 70K with Connect per annum – that’s not a small sum – but I WILL definitely reduce it if they mess me about – Qualtex would only love the here my tune I am pretty sure 8)
