Yes, hardly had a call this week. I’ve got loads of jobs to do outside at home but the weather is lousy. 🙁

Quite busy down here and not much time to sit in the garden but since the planes started again the sun is hazier.

nope ! last two weeks extremely quiet and way down compared to same dates last two years ! but its not just us hardly anyone is busy and yesterday when I went into town all the shops were kicking their heels ! Pending election, holiday problems, severe downturn in the economy all adds up to this I reckon and no matter who gets in I cannot see things changing in the near future, I think we have got a rocky ride ahead.
Lets hope that I am wrong and it all picks up after the general Election !

Just had my first call of the day. We were sorting out an appointment and the woman asks “Do you have a call-out charge?”
I answer “Yes, whereabouts are you?”
She replies “Newton Mearns” which is Glasgow area. I keep getting calls for jobs in Glasgow, Paisley etc but the people are always vague about where they got my number :rolls:April 26, 2010 at 11:57 pm #372289leavemetogetonwithit

I can usually tell where they’re calling from by the number on the display. “No. withheld” or “not available” and I usually leave it for the answerphone. Ditto distant jobs. Ring them back if I feel like going for a long ride later in the week and can take in several. Local jobs usually get priority, unless they’re tumble dryers or Indesit, Servis, Nextra, Matsui, etc.

first week ever not had a single job from the directories, a sign of things to come on that front me thinks, certainly wont be giving them as much money next year.
