Thanks, Dave. The spokes seem to be ok, although I must say I didn’t wiggle them to see if any are about to break. Will check on that. Thanks for the info.

Wow…..I just happened upon this thread, and can’t believe that this is 11 years old (as well as how far I’ve come in the repair of my machine, since then). Good Lord, I sound awfully unprepared for any kind of actual repair. Since 2011, I’ve just about rebuilt this machine, from bearings to belts to pumps, to spiders, to suspension rods, etc., etc.
Anyway, I had started a new thread about the timer, but happened upon this thread, and in the very first post, the recommendation was about the cold water valve. I had purchased a new one, but never put it in, as turning the water off at the mains had stopped the water from seeping into the drum when the machine was off. I had the top of the machine off yesterday (to take photos of the timer, assuming I was going to have to replace it), and decided that since I was in the machine, I might as well put the new cold water valve in. I did. And voila. The machine is going through the complete cycle now. Just thought I’d post on to this really old thread, to thank you (once again) for the always expert advice. Thanks, guys.

LOL….I wonder if it’s physically possible for me to have ‘100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} concentration’. I’ve looked at the timer, and see the myriad of wires that would have to be reconnected. I suppose one question I would have is why, when I advance the timer manually, it doesn’t allow for the water to come in for that first rinse?? Of course, I imagine I can continue to manually move the timer about, setting it again to the second rinse cycle two times, to effect the two rinse cycles, but I’m concerned that, at some point, the timer may stop working at all, even if it’s being manually set. Is that possible, and is there any way to ‘repair’ the existing timer? Is it possible that this is just a wiring problem? Iadom sent me the service manual for this machine, which does have the diagram for the timer connections…..????

The small panel on my freezer has three lights….green, blue and amber, representing ‘power, running, and alarm’ respectively. The amber light works (fortunately) as it went on when the power to the socket it was plugged into, went out. (By the way, the same circuit as my washing machine…lol. Fortunately, my washing machine repair was not the cause….whew!!). The green and blue lights don’t work, nor does my ‘owners manual’ advise me if either of them are meant to be on at any time. I kind of assume that perhaps power and/or running should be on. I want to see if there are bulbs in the panel at all, or if they are burned out and need to be replaced. I found a video that indicates ‘prying’ the panel off wit a putty knife, but I don’t know if this is specific to my machine, as there is also a dial on the panel, that turns the freezer on and off, as well as sets how cold you want the freezer to run. Do you have any idea how that panel is meant to be removed?? I have not tried just pulling off the dial (like you would pull off the dial on the washing machine), and I don’t want to break this while attempting my ‘repair’…..???

I have one screw in my glasses that is always coming loose, so this would probably be handy for me, as well. You specify Loctite ‘nutloc’. I know that there are different types of Loctite. So, I ask for Loctite ‘nutloc’ at the hardware store?

Ah, thanks for directing me to the manual, as it indicates ‘a few spots’, where presumably would be easier to break the bond of a few spots, rather than slathering it over the threads of the inner tub, which I would probably have been prone to do. I must say, that manual you sent is really invaluable to me. I haven’t studied it as well as I should, but will. I’ll buy some, just in case. And I’ll probably end up buying a 30mm ring spanner, as well. I keep having to borrow the one that I’m using…lol.

This time I was really vigilant when I tightened it, putting a wooden wedge in to stop the pulley from turning, using a breaker bar, and really tightening it with all my might. I had taken this off once before, when I did the bearings, and it never came out, so hopefully it will stay where it is. The machine worked great…so far. No leaks, etc. But I am being cosmically ‘tested’ with this venture. The socket for the machine was replaced a few days ago, and the electrician also put a new plug on the end of the washing machine, as it was difficult to remove, even from the new socket. I went to use the machine this morning, turned it on, and…..nothing. I figured maybe the wiring in the pump blew the circuit breaker, but no, that was still fine. Finally I checked the fuse in the new plug. It wasn’t good. LOL…one thing after another! I put in a new fuse, and the machine worked great. Whew.

OK thank you. I’ll buy some, just in case. Sadly, blow torches are a bit beyond my mechanical capability, so fingers crossed that the nut stays on, as it is. If not, I’ll use the Loctite.

OK, thank you. I’ll go get some. In the meantime, I tightened the nut as much as I could with a breaker bar, and it stayed on for the rest of the wash. Just curious, IF I ever had to take the nut off again, after using the Loctite, is it possible??

I finally decided to do some laundry. No leaks, so that’s taken care of. But in the middle of the wash, the drum stopped turning. Turns out that the 30mm bolt fell off and the belt came off the motor. Is the ONLY reason why that 30mm bolt fell off because I didn’t tighten it enough? I thought I had, using a breaker bar, but have put all back together again, now watching the machine with the rear panel off. I just want to confirm that there would be no other reason for that bolt to fall off, other than my ‘neglect’……????

While this is totally unimportant, as I was heaving the machine around, some of the brown plastic trim on the machine broke off. It seemed to be glued on with kind of a rubbery strip of some type of glue. I kept the broken pieces. What did they use to glue these on??

Edit: The reservoir I’m talking about goes from the tub to the pump (not the tank…)
