Re: Looking for silver knob xou482SI

:boops: appologies Don, Thanks for the response!..

I never did get this knob sorted so my poor aunt has been suffering in silence all this time 🙁

I found up a makeshift standard 1/4″ knob but never even gave her that :boops:

Thank you for the information. 🙂

Is there any way of telling which of the two parts I need without removing the pump from the machine?
(I fitted the pump, so I know what’s involved and don’t want to make extra work for myself if I don’t have to.)

    Power off!
if you take off the kick plate and look through the hole with a torch you should be able to see the lable on the pump motor.
    hth.
mine was askoll on the same machine, and I could clearly see the askoll lable on the motor from there 🙂

Re: Bosch wfo2865gb/01 not draining 🙁

well the culprit was a round 20p sized ball of fluff and scale that had found its way to the undersink manifold where it needed to go through a rightangled10mm slot…..and couldn’t….

I’ve left the new pump fitted as I couldn’t be arsed to change it back again but at least the missus is happy again 🙂

    Thanks for the Reply CJ..
Theres a Nice roast Lamb Joint being prepared at the moment so I’m currently bannished from the Kitchen, I’m hoping some crud has been loosened and blocked the filter again(the simplist option), but have to go through the draining routine first to check so will have to wait till later…

The two successful washes the missus commented on how they were so dry compared to recently, as she had been doing 2 spins…. unfortunately this early indicator didn’t get as far as me 🙂

Re: Bosch wfo2865gb/01 not draining 🙁

well after replacing the extension waste pipe (was blocked ) I had a nice full bore outlet 😀

However, two washes later I’m back to the not pumping out and flashing ‘spin led’ 🙁

Now about to drain and check filter again, but both times has occurred after adding ‘vanish’ does this product attack the scale etc , therefore loosening it and end up blocking the pump/pipework?

Ok… so first off Thaks to Uk white goods for their fantastic speedy service 🙂

Ordered @8 am , despatched by 9 am and delivered first post the following day…

    Now for the “BUT”…

It still dosent get the water out 🙁

I hadn’t had the back off as I had worked from the front, , so hadn’t cleaned out the pressure releif chamber (or whatever its called) on the outlet pipe…
This is now degunked, and flushed through the outlet pipe but i only get a low flow through it?

flushed a couple of bowl fulls of water and got somemore scaley bits through, but still only quite low flow??

Is that normal? the flow from the pump pre the outlet chamber was a nice full bore, but obviously that didn’t have any ‘head’….

night shift calls so will have another look tomorrow I guess 🙁 thought the cleaning had cracked it, as the micro bore was blocked on the outlet chamber , presumably not allowing release of the suction, but thats clear now ??

    any other tips please?

    Cheers, nick

Indeed I have fully stripped it out so no possible blockages, I very nearly ordered that pump yesterday as I saw Penguin 45 had posted it for another Bosch machine, but wanted to be sure 🙂

    I’ll give ’em a ring now…

    Cheers, Nick

p.s. yes indeed, just about 7 years and original except for the heating element replaced last year (again Thanks P45 😆 )

Re: smeg gas hob – burner won’t stay on

I’m Glad you all know nothing 😉

I’ve , or rather my better half has had an issue with her small burner Siemens gas hob for the last few years, basically from New…

after getting some advice on here for a washing machine fault I thought I’ll have a butchers for the gas hob…..

gathered no advice could be given, so checked out some hob posts, and decided if its likely to be the knob I’ll wip it off and have a look …

Couldnt find a fault with it, but figured lets try pushing down that little bit harder…..

    Works every time !!!!!

So I played a trick on the missus, making out you had to blow on your fingers first…..
reluctantly after seeing me do it a couple of times, and it has allways taken minutes to light before, she did it herself and it lit….. 😆 😆 😆

    thanks guys….
    Well happy!!!

Just a quick Note to Say thanks for the help and info provided

Element arrived yesterday, quickly and easily fitted and first test wash with no problems 🙂

I suspect the scale build-up has also led to too much powder being used as well, so maybe some savings to be made 🙂

    Thanks very much anyway 🙂

off to find the gas hob forum now 🙂

No worries … a lil more searching led me to realise the compression fitting type sealing :rolls:

    wasnt pretty in there lol..

actually , apart from caked around the heater, its spotless so hopefully just a new heater will see her through 🙂

thanks very much for your advice !!
