    Re: ADP8132 Error lights

Can’t seems to get hold of these as they are obsolete, so have just removed the faulty capacitor (D.E.M. 70092) and it now works OK without it. There is no noise or interference from the unit, so think I will just leave it as is and not bother looking for a replacement now.

    Re: ADP8132 Error lights

Bit of an update on this one. After a couple of days I tried it again and it started up and did a rinse OK. So put it back on a wash cyle, and it stopped after an hour. There were no lights flashing at all now, no power was shown. On having a look around I have traced it back to a capacitor on the inlet transformer. This had blown in half nearly. Are these still obtainable, and how do I get it off without taking the macine out of its housing? The capacitor has 3 black wires coming out of it, and is situated at the front of the machine, but it looks difficult to get at the terminals.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the list of codes, but my error is not one of them. On mine the 5th light is blinking, but is a solid light in all these codes. I think it may be something more serious in the unit.
The unit is fully integrated and a full width one, so only access is via bottom panel unless fully removed from host cupboard unit.

Just a quick update. Got the new heater element and installed it, runs as good as new now, so pleased it was just that. Quick note on installation. It is fairly easy to get at from the front once the lower cover is removed, although a bit fiddly. You will need an 8mm box spanner or similar to get the fixing nut off – it is a long thread, I had to knock 2 sockets together to get at it. The 2 wires just pull off, just remember which goes where, and the earth is on a separate plate that comes off once the fixing nut is loose. The element just lifts off from inside the washer unit. Took me about 30 mins to do the job. There was no visible corrosion on the old element, just some discolouring that did not look too bad, but was obviously enough to get some earth leakage.

Re: Hotpoint WMA13 door seal replacement

Thanks very much for that. I have replaced motor brushes and motors before, but not a door seal, and it looked a little fiddly, if not too complicated. It always helps if someone has done it before.
