Thanks. I looked on the Xpelair site before I posted here but I got the distinct impression that they only include current model details. I’ll go and have another look.

Stop Press: I had another look at the Xpelair site but with no better luck so I’ve posted my query using their online support facility.

Thanks. They were very helpful when I needed a replacement accessory for the machine so, yes, I’ll most probably try them. Boston is a b*gg*r of a place for traffic and parking, though, and I didn’t want to incur a charge only to be told the thing was past economic repair. Mind you, looking at the cost of new Kenwoods, it’s certainly worth going down that route. I see replacement brushes are only about a fiver on line so; if they were the cause of my problems, it would be nice if I could check them out (replace them?) myself first. How difficult would that be? On the other hand, if the problem was in the pcb, as suggested by Davecas, how expensive might that be?

What’s the best way to go about that? What are the chances of it being irreparable?

South Lincolnshire, so quite a long way from you up there in Scotland 🙁 I will give you a call when my wife is around to answer any questions about what actually happened when the device failed. Thanks.

I’m not sure; it emptied ok when she put some water in but I dont think she let it it go on to spin. I will check this when I can next talk to my daughter. Thanks for the advice.
