ParticipantRe: Siemens WXLP166AGB F04 problem
As I would suspect…..
Bit the bullet and took off the front (leccy off first). Removed a lolly stick AND a feather from the pump inlet.
Toddlers…….

I guess I check in with the Siemens warranty people first and see what they offer (I’ve apparently got a 10 year parts and labour on the machine).
It looks like a six inch high panel at the bottom should come off to get to the underneath, would that give sufficient access to the pump inlet?
Thanks!

ParticipantRe: AEG Favorit 80820W buzzing noise
The buzzing noise is definately coming from the vicinity of the PCB and not (what looks like) the big heater relay which is on the opposite side of the machine….

The lower front panel is accessable by removing the “door front” (undo about eight screws on the inside of the door) and then you can access the screws that hold on the silver facia panel.

ParticipantRe: AEG 80820W burning smell?
Update: decided to call out an engineer who decided it was a problem with the heater. Turns out it was probably a dodgy contact had caused the contact block to burn out.
Result? needed a new connector on the wires and a new heater.

ParticipantRe: AEG 80820W burning smell?
OK, I’ve had the machine apart as best I can. The burning smell only appears when the machine is heating the water (so I guess it’s not the pump).
There are no relays in the top of the door panel and there are no big enough relays in the control board. I think I’ve found the relay that controls the heater and I *think* it’s not smelly….
Is it possible that the heater is playing up? I’m presuming it’s the metal 6x3in cylinder in the pipe that feeds the upper spray arm and it’s worth having it fixed?
Can you give me a likely cost to fix plus an engineer callout?

HI Penguin45
Thanks for your reply. I’ll check, but I don’t think the smell is coming from the door, rather in the little “ventilation” gap between the dishwasher and the worktop – suggesting that the smell is coming from the back somewhere?
Can you give a vague cost for an engineer to fix the likely problems – I’d like to balance this against the cost of getting a new machine instead….

didn’t really want to hear that!
FWIW there are two PCBs, one which looks like it drives the motor only and the other which I presume drives all the other gubbins. Also, if it’s any help, if I select “pump out” the motor spins (when I think it shouldn’t) and the pump DOES NOT run.
So, is this a DIY fix, call out or not-economical-to-repair? The AEG is now about six years old and *should* have plenty more life in it……?

So, it *is* one raised commutator 🙁 🙁
Looks like I’ll need a new motor, do you have the part I require?
text on the motor:
UZ 112 G 70 Typ ME 002
1P 083498 350 F2 1050
230/240V 50Hz DC-El.Iskl.B/F
Sach.-Nr. 645 248 850
SBP 645 260 610 ohne ThermosSecondly, before I got round to taking a look inside, there may be something else broken? When I currently select any program and press start, the *motor* does a short *fast* spin. I’ve had a poke into the PCBs and the one that drives the motor looks like it’s been hot in the past (covered in soot and smells a bit too).
text on the controller:
AKO 546 273
AEG 645 307 080
645 180 700-01Any tips welcomed!

OK, new brushes installed and we’re been happily washing again now. One problem though is the motor is noisier than before. On a machine which used to be “silent” the motor makes quite a loud “clicking” which changes frequency in time with the motor speed.
I’ve already run some emery paper over the copper contacts and chamfered the corners of the brushes as per earlier suggestions.
Any ideas?
Cheers.

OK, here’s all the idents that I can find (requested dimensions at the end):
Like a previous poster, the motor is an FHP with the following identification plate:
UZ 112 G 70 Typ ME 002
1P 083498 350 F2 1050
230/240V 50Hz DC-El.Iskl.B/F
Sach.-Nr. 645 248 850
SBP 645 260 610 ohne ThermosThe only identification on the brushes are L1 embossed on the outside of the plastic casing and PA66-GF25 on the inside ( manufacture date apr 98 ).
The brush has 470NL printed on it and is 12x6mm in cross-section. Bizarrely, one has worn right down and the other has “lots” of life left in it. The motor itself is maybe four/five years old – having been replaced after two years (grrrrr).
Hopefully this is enough to work out what I need!
Thanks muchly, Jonathan

A pair of these inserts from the shop@ will do the trick:

Dave.
Hi there,
Looks like I have the exact same model of motor with the same “C9” error. I’ve checked the bushes and they’re right at the end of their life. Should I get the bushes you suggest above or the bushes including holder (if such a thing exists). Is it easy to fit new bushes?
Thanks for any advice,
Jonathan
