Ok fitted new cap as per others on board and now seems to be working fine so thanks for advice. Just a note to readers, don’t always believe that what you find online is correct as that was what led me down this path. Always worth getting a second opinion on things. Thanks

Thanks Dave, think you have it there. I followed steps from an on-line video and think they got their polarities mixed up as have now seen 2 more which contradict the 1st one plus other advice. Will check other caps for guidance and try again with a new cap. Cheers

Ok in that case the lights on are 1,3 and 4.

Thanks for your reply and yes there are some vertical lights on, there are six lights on the panel. From top to bottom the lights on are 3,4 and six as well as the 5 continuous flashing along the bottom. Does this match any of the UK made machine’s error codes ? Any ideas ? Cheers, Ken

Thanks for the advice Dave, will do a quick visual check on the board and see if I can spot any signs of failure. Ken

    Re: Candy dishwasher showing er5

Multimeter is working ok so if it’s only showing less than 0 ohms that would suggest the heater unit, if it should read 30 ? Will also check control board for bad connections/burns and then will give it another run and see what the result is.
    Cheers

Thanks for that Andy, thought it should be around there as that is normal for a heater element but wasn’t sure if it would be the same for a flow through heater. Any idea what the cause of failure would be ?
    Many thanks
    Ken
