Re: Fisher & Paykel 051 – replacing inlet valve

Remove the 2 screws holding the plastic collar and pull the valve straight up. Get a new rubber seal to put on the new valve as the old one may leak if reused. Dont swap the hot valve over as the cold valve is proportional.

    Check with power off.

Check the resistance from Phase & Neutral to Earth. This will
identify if either the motor wiring harness or the lid switch
harness is shorting to the wrapper.

Check that the resistance of each of the water valves is 15 ohms
    (phase 1-4), I take it its a GW700.

More to check depending on model Phase 1 ‘XX0’
    Phase 2 ‘XX1’

    Please post model number.

Sounds like the bearing is on its way out. If it has, or is leaking from underneath its a good chance that has washed the grease out and causes the bearing to fail.

    Wazzawenches. With power off
    1. Check for corrosion on the edge connector of the Rotor Position Sensor and the Motor Control Module connector.

    2. Check the contacts on the rotor positional sensor end of the hall harness to see if any have been damaged. (Each set of contacts in
the socket has two wipers. If the distance between these wipers varies between different contacts, replace the rotor positional sensor harness.)

    3. Check rotor position sensor for corrosion or black burn marks. Replace if it has these. If it has burn marks check the motor windings for a similar black mark and if present replace the windings too.

    4. If everything above checks ok replace the motor controle module.

To Brackent. Remove the plug from the wall and tilt back. Remove the pump. Check the resistance of the pump. If its less than 33ohms replace it. Please reply with result.

Its not safe to disable the switch. Cant have drum spinning and lid open. Heres how to check it though. :rolls:

    Phase 2 (Late) to 5 .
The lid switch is controlled by a reed switch located under the top deck on the
right hand side towards the front. The reed switch is activated by a magnet which is moulded into the
lid assembly. This switch is closed when the lid is closed. Use a multimeter to check operation. The
resistance should be less than 2 ohms. 🙂

Re: Fisher & Paykel error codes

The module has detected the pump is on when it should be off.

Unplug the machine to do any checks.
1.Check if the thermal cutout has activated and if so wait till the pump cools down before restarting.
    2. check for blockage and condition of pump before restarting.
    3. check for open circuit pump windings and the resistance should be 26ohms @ 20 degrees C for a compreci pump or 33ohms @ 20 degrees C for a Selni brand pump.

Check pump wiring for open circuit as well

Ive had this fault too and a new pump fixed it.

Last fix in the list is replace the display module.

To elks4. 1st check wiring and edge connector of rotor position sensor for corrosion. 2nd. Check RPS. Replace if faulty. 3rd. Replace motor control.

Is there a fault code that you can post?

If Smartdrive has been filled with hot water and has not had a cold rinse, Smartdrive will not spin up to
its full speed of 1000 RPM, its maximum speed will be reduced to 700 RPM. To remove this flag, enter
the Control Option mode and push the button beside the words HOT BOWL CLEAR, or put Smartdrive
    through a complete final rinse.

Got new pump installed. Goes great. You were right on the money about the pump. It also was not blocked. Have ordered repair and diagnostic codes manual from F&P for future use. Thanks Penguin45.

Re: MW059 power cuts out on drain/spin

I pulled motor apart and checked windings and position sensor. Back to original problem. It only cuts out when the pump is running. Pumps water hard so no blockage. Rechecked pump windings and at 27 ohms is a bit low. Pump maybe cutting out on an overload. Will replace it when wholesaler opens on monday. I know how to get into diagnostic mode but not what to press once there to find an error to give you more information. I get the 2 beeps but then go where?
    Thanks again,
    Ken.
