    Re: SMEG DWF44SS.1 door switch

I can not remember, but I believe when the switch is inserted into door lock assembly, the wires are not accessible.
Tried opening and closing the door, with upper front removed, and the lock and switch were making all proper clicking noises as if everything was fine.
    I’ll have a look again.

Sorted out. The element was not fully pushed into the tub and that is why there was a leak. A not gentle tap with hammer put it where it should be.

Re: SMEG DWF 44 SS.1 problem

The dishwasher was raised on four toilet papers to allow visual while it was working. The water drips between motor and impellor . The motor shaft has threads and impellor is screwed on it prior to fixing its body to the motor. There seems to be a gap which lets the water out if motor in spinning. How tight should the impellor be screwed to the motor shaft?

What is the way of knowing where it is leaking?

Re: SMEG DWF 44 SS.1 problem

The reason for not filling now is that dishwasher has flooded and the float switch prevents any further filling. There is no diverter valve in the Smeg. Circulation pump is connected to three way hose that connects to the bottom, middle and top arm.

On the first test, after assembly, the machine was taking the water. Now it will not take on any programme! 🙁

Penguin45 wrote:Correct. There is a known issue with the impellor in the circulation pump shearing off the shaft of the pump motor. It all whirs away, but not a lot of water gets moved. Big strip down job to check. The impellor and housing is available as a spare part – 690070533 is the part number.

Thanks m8. I was not sure if the problem was lack of water (water level below the heater-but that seems to be the norm) or the pump problem. But if everyone thinks the impellor was at fault, I will have to have a look underneath. Thanks for all replays!

    confused tbh

    Wvm”

The water is seeping from both top and middle arm when I open the door quickly, but the positions of both arms is exactly the same every time. It means they do not spin at all. Maybe the pressure is not as high as it should be?

It is just below 60 degrees, but regardless of the water temperature the heater should be below the water level and not above. Right?

Re: SMEG DWF 44 SS.1 problem

I have run empty dishwasher a few times, opening doors while washing. What I have noticed is that water level is always very low. Smeg is connected to a hot water supply so it does not have to heat any water. The water level is always below heating element, when I open the door. Either that is normal, when the door is open or it does not fill with enough water. The water does come from top and middle arms, so the pump should be fine. I have exploded diagram with parts list for the model. Could it be a problem with pressure switch or blocked feed pipe to it? Thanks!

I’ve got new drum rubber seal. Can I use Hoover contact adhesive as a Debor sealant?

    Re: LG WM1485FHD drum leak

Thanks for all your replays! Would it be wise to replace drum bearing kit at the same time. Drum does not rattle. But washer was bought in May 2002 and is in constant use. There is no leak at the back, but dried washing powder watermark was found just above heating element on a plastic protector bit. Would I need some special tools to remove old bearings and fit a new ones?

    Re: LG WM1485FHD drum leak

Will the tub have to come out or I can just remove front and undo the bolts?
Also I have noticed yellow grease leak from two shock absorbers. Will they have to be replaced. Washer tends to be very shaky when spinning. I’ve read on the forum that LG addressed the “instability problems, for which LG has released a fix” but nobody suggested what to replace!
    Cheers!
